4K reads! Ahh, I love you all, thank youuu xoTo say that Euphemia was surprised to see Druella sat in front of her was an understatement, she actually had to blink several times to be sure that it was actually her cousin there and it took her a few minutes to register that Druella had Charlus' letter clutched tightly in her hand.
Panic rose in Mia like a tsunami wave, she was sure it must've shown on her face for Druella smirked in an evil fashion that only bullies could do as her acrylic nails pinched the envelope.
Euphemia gulped, not wanting to anger or annoy her cousin in any way, shape or form but she also didn't want to raise any suspicions as she was positive she looked pretty guilty and suspicious as Druella was narrowing her eyes at Mia curiously in an intimidating way.
"Can I have that back please?" Euphemia asked politely, pointing to the letter and reaching for it, only for Druella to pull it out of her way, dangling it above her head.
A wave of frustration and desperation washed over Mia and she hopped up in her seat to try and reach the letter but Druella simply laughed manically and kept moving it out of Euphemia's grip.
"Can I have that back please," she repeated through gritted teeth this time leading Druella to smirk in a way that sent shivers running down Euphemia's spine.
"Can I have that back please?" Druella mimicked her, doing a cruel impression of Mia that made her scowl.
She just wanted her bloody letter back, she didn't know what Druella would do with it, what she would make of the letter from Charlus.
"What's so important that you need it back?" Druella asked in practically a hiss, her dark hair falling over her face as she leaned forward, a malicious smile on her face.
Euphemia's heart practically burst out of her chest as it thumped wildly out of nerves - what the hell was she going to say to her cousin?
Mia wasn't all that good at making things up on the spot and lying, she usually stuttered and went red which often screamed suspicion.
"Is it perhaps a letter from a sweetheart?" Druella asked as she walked back and forth past the table that was crammed full of Euphemia's books and parchments along with scattered quills and occasional ink spillages on the table.
The heels of Druella's shoes clacked on the floor, the sounds echoing in the silent library as she looked at Mia carefully to see her reaction.
Her dark hair swished behind her moving figure and Euphemia could see why the majority of the school population feared her cousin because she was certainly afraid of her in this moment.
Mia was sure she had even forgotten how to breathe properly.
Druella sure was sending her into a state of panic that surged through her body at alarming rates.
The panic started out as thin cellophane, something her fingers could surely pierce breathing holes in as Euphemia was still composed.. for now until her anxiety and panic about the letter began rise slowly, taking with it half of her oxygen as Mia quickly found herself so short of breath to the point that she was actually panting, gulping in great breaths of air from the area around her.
In another minute that seemed like hours of never ending anxiety, the panic had become a deluge of ice water surrounding every limb and encasing every part of her body - filling it to the utmost limit and creeping higher and higher until it passed her mouth and nose, giving her the feeling that she was being submerged under water whilst everyone else was breathing fine around her.
