Sunday afternoon Mark's call woke me up.  I still have a migraine from the night before. He told me Colten is playing again tonight and invites me along again.  I spend the morning cleaning. I like things to be in their place. I eagerly await this evening.

My phone begins to ring early in the afternoon. I look at the screen and get excited. Matt. There is a part of me that is giggling like a school girl, but the other part is angry at my excitement. How did he even end up in my contacts? I answer the call and try to stay calm.

"Hello."

"Hey Ana. It's Matt. How are you?"

"I'm ok. How did you get my number?"

"I got it from my brother. I had a discussion with Mark. I wanted to see how you were from last night."

"I'll be okay. It was nice of you to call and check on me." My mind wonders to my dream last night and I begin to imagine his lips on mine. "After Mark cleaned up the blood the cut on my cheek was less impressive. He fixed it with a band aid."

"What are you doing this afternoon? Maybe you want to take your mind off things?"

"I don't know, I don't really feel like going out just yet."

"Okay, well if you change your mind you have my number. We could go for a walk, or a ride, or whatever."

"Okay I'll let you know."

"I have to go Angel."

I hear voices around Matt and he quickly hangs up before I can respond. I am surprised that he called to see how I was. It was a really nice gesture.

Later in the day I take Reno to the park. We walk up the path and I settle by a tree at the pond on a blanket while Reno plays.

"I didn't think I'd see you today."

I turn to look at the voice that just spoke to me. Matt. I'm not exactly sure why I am so happy. I move over, making room for Matt to sit with me.

"There is something between us and this park." He said.

I giggle. If he only knew that it's not just at the park that there is something between us. I smile at him provocatively.

"Apparently... Come sit with me."

Matt's expression becomes serious. What exactly am I playing at? My phone rings. I send it to voicemail. Matt sits with me and stares in my eyes.

"What are you looking at?" I ask. "Are you trying to seduce me with your eyes?"

He smiles at me. "You are one hell of a girl."

"Okay, if you think so." I laugh.

"I'm not joking Ana. You were assaulted last night, and you seem to be doing really well with it."

"I learned how to deal with things like what happened last night at a young age. I let the bad things sink to the bottom of the pond."

"You are really brave to deal with what happened, and go on with a smile on your face, instead of staying scared and hiding in your apartment. Most women stay scared. Has that happened to you before."

"Yeah, for years when I was a child. But then there are those who seek out danger, like you."

"It depends on the context. I like the feeling it gives. I like feeling alive, untouchable. Do you understand?" Matt said.

"Yes, I like thrills to feel alive. My daily routine makes me feel trapped and anxious."

"You should live by my principles. All forbidden pleasures are worth living."
