December, 2009
The holiday season was upon us and I was approaching the fourteenth week in my pregnancy. I was amazed at what the growing baby inside of me was doing and the changes that were happening with my body. Every night before bed I stood in front of my mirror and stared at my belly for a good ten minutes. It was always bigger at night. The nausea had subsided a little bit, poking it's evil head up every so often when I woke, but it had been replaced by even sorer boobs and epic cravings.
I couldn't get enough of sticky toffee pudding that I was afraid I would turn into one.
The tension in the group was at an all time high now that everybody knew what was going on with me. I had given Lauren the go ahead once Matty knew to tell Ross and I assumed one of the boys had let Hann know because he had started telling me all these random facts about pregnancy that I had not known before.
Matty and I hadn't really spoken since our fight in my kitchen a couple of weeks ago. Gemma was keeping me updated on him for the first week after but now she was back in London it was harder to get information on how he was doing.
I didn't like to speak about him to George because I think that George was a little funny about this whole situation as well; he had chosen not to say anything though.
It was Sunday today and tonight there was a dinner party happening that my mother had planned. In these last few weeks I had been really thinking about what I wanted to do with this whole baby situation. I had finally made my decision after talking it through hours on end with mum so she had invited George and his parents and Matty and his parents over to discuss it.
I was fucking shitting my pants.
For a few reasons, let me explain.
One. It was going to be a right awkward little dinner party with the two boys who may have gotten me pregnant and their parents.
Two. I hadn't spoken a word to Matty since I demanded he leave my house so I was terrified of how our first meeting since was going to go down.
Three. I was scared of everybody's reaction to my decision.
"How're you feeling?" Lauren asked, walking into my room and handing me a cup of tea.
"I'm nervous Loz," I admitted, placing the mug on the bed side table. "Tonight is going to be so awkward."
She sat down next to me so we were both leaning against the headboard of my bed. "It's gotta be done though sweetie. Of course it isn't going to be a comfortable night but this whole situation isn't really comfortable, is it?"
I shook my head. She was right.
"I just wish there was an easier way to see who the father is so we don't have to go through all this bullshit."
"You'd think in this day and age it'd be way easier to determine," she agreed.
"Are you going to be around tonight?" I asked in hopes that she would be, provide me with some moral support.
"No, I thought it was best I wasn't. Taking Tilly with me to Ross' and we're just gonna chill there until it's over," she leaned her head on my shoulder. "But if at any point you need me, just text and I'll be right home, okay?"
"Okay," I smiled.

I decided to wear a loose fitting black dress with white flowers on it, something that didn't cling to my belly now it was getting a little harder to hide. Mum had been assuring me all afternoon that things were going to go perfectly fine tonight but I just didn't know how true that was. I knew Matthew and I knew George, I also knew myself and most of the time the three of us in a serious setting didn't mix.
