Jennie was on her way home when an unknown number was calling her several times.
She isnt the type who randomly answers a call especially if it's a stranger. It doesn't mean that she's afraid or annoyed. Its just that it became a habit.

"I heard your mom was sick. How was she at the hospital?"The message itself made Jennie curious about who it might be. Without any hesitation, she replied. She was hoping it was one of their relatives in abroad since it was a roaming number.

"My mother is badly ill. May I know who is this? :)"She waited for a reply but there was none. She managed to change her clothes and cook some foods.
It was already 5:30pm and she needs to run an errand to the hospital so that her mother can eat her dinner.
She did not grew rich. To be honest, it was the exact opposite. Her father died 2 years ago out of an accident and due to that, her mom was severely pained by their lost that she eventually had serious cardiovascular problems and complications.
Even though they lack money, she did rushed her to the hospital after she has her extreme seizures and attacks.
That is the reason why Jennie had to work for a graveyard shift. Her routine was to go to school from 7am-4pm, visit and take care of her mom by 5pm-8pm and start her work on a 25/7 club from 9pm-3am. The rest of the time is considered as her break
Her life was messed up, but she never gave up despite it all.
As she was waiting for a cab, her phone vibrated.

Sorry for the late reply. I can help you with your financial distress. :)Her heart was beating snappily. She knew it was one of the countless text she's both been receiving and ignoring.
She immediately deleted all the texts from that number and locked her phone.
She greeted the personnel of the hospital for she knew them for a long time. She even saw their doctor but she managed go hide.
After the doctor was out of her mother's ward, she came in.
"Omma! Im here! I prepared a soup for you."
Jennie greeted her with a delicate smile. Her mother was everything to her. Nevertheless, losing her is never an option. She was positive that her mother can recover even if it will take a lot time, effort and especially money.
She blew the soup and fed her mother. After 3 spoons, her mother's face was sliding a glowing smile at her.
"Yah, what's with that beautiful smile? Does the doctor has positive remarks on you already?" She merrily asked as her mom's expression depicts a good news.
"Jagi, I know you're tired."
"Don't even think about it. Honest to goodness, No. I'm not tired and never will I. Okay? Shoo that thought away." She smiled and kissed the forhead of her mother. It took her a minute before she let go of the kiss. She was trying her best not cry.
But, she was really tired. So exhausted that if she wants to loose herself out, she would. Yet, her mother gives her strength everyday. She was her inspiration, and she WILL NEVER GET TIRED. She keeps on instilling that on her mind.
"Jagi, the doctor was complaining about our bills. The whole morning, they were asking me about how will we pay the bills we had accumulated since we arrived. Jagi, its nearly a year...we dont have a money that huge."
Jennie clutched unto the matress. She was furious. How could a hospital serve people when they after for their money? Does money mean more than lives?
"Omma, we'll pay it sooner. Dont worry."
"Jagi, if this machine stops working...my heart will eventually stop beating. We all come to an end. Mine is---"
"Can you please stop those filthy talks?" Jennie shouted. She was bursting with anger. Actually, its a mixture or financial, emotional and physical distress.
Her mother who was also emotional at the moment finally poured out the tears that was forcely stucked for a long time.
"You knew how bad I feel? Im your mom but look at me, I can do nothing to help you. I cant even earn a living nor cook for you. Feeding me, providing me what I need---Jennie its my job! Its my responsibility."
Her mother spoke in between her breath. Jennie was back into reality and was regretting how she shouted back to her mother. She was patting her back and immediately gave her the inhaler.
Her mother was holding the oxyginated material.
They remained silent for awhile until her mother was asleep.
It was near her shift and she had to go. She got on her wallet as she must leave her mom with some coins for her to buy crackers if she wants to. She always do this and tell one of her friend from the maintenance to check on her mother if she needs anything. Her friend was their neighbor who treated her also as her own.
Unluckily, the only money left to her was enough to the transportation going to her workplace.
She cursed under her breath and cried silently while hiding in the bathroom.
How could the deity make me suffer like this?
But there's one solution.
The only solution she always has but never tried.
She badly needed money. A money that she could get in an hour equivalent to her one-month salary at a fast food chain.
