chapter sixty

EDEN SAT on her couch awaiting emi's arrival, tonight they were having a sleepover to discuss eden and her new boyfriend, as emi stated in their texts. she's almost an hour late and just when she thought she wasn't going to show up she heard a soft knock on the door. quickly, eden sprung up from the couch and over to the door.

the door opened revealing emi with a book bag on her shoulder, "hey." she said as she walked through the door of the satory household. eden didn't even notice the smirk on her face.

"finally, you're like an hour late." she complained. but emi couldn't care less about her complaints because she'd be thanking her soon enough.

eden closed the door behind her and hopped back on the couch. "are your parents home yet?" she asked, trying to pass the time.

"nope, not for another couple hours." her parents worked late on the weekends, but emi knew that. "good."

eden furrowed her eyebrows, clearly confused as to why she said that, "good? what-" before she could finish her question the doorbell rung. she didn't know who could have been coming to her house this late, it's almost nine. that might not be so late but for someone to come to her house it is.

"well, aren't you gonna get that?" emi asked, another smirk playing on her soft face. eden could only roll her eyes, knowing that her bestfriend was up to something she shouldn't be.

slowly she got up from the couch and walked over to the door, but before opening it she glanced back at emi who was now standing up. who is it? she mouthed.

just open it, okay? and then she turned back towards the door and slowly opened it up revealing none other than finn wolfhard with a giant box in his arms.

the girls hand flew to her mouth with tears welling in her eyes as she moved out of the way to let him inside. emi from across the room squealed, her excitement was to much to keep quiet. finn set the box down and turned towards his now, two-week long, girlfriend.

immediately her arms found its way around his neck and his around her waist. tears were now streaming down her face, never in a million years has she thought that she'd meet finn wolfhard, especially not as his girlfriend, who he put on the internet only a few days after they confirmed it.

"oh my god, what are you doing here?" she asked, letting go of him and pulling away.

"well this puppy wasn't going to find its way to your house without me, was it?" her eyes found its way to the box that was sitting on the floor, for a moment she forgot he even brought a box with him. "you got me a puppy?" slowly she walked towards the box and bent down to take the lid off revealing a small dog.

"you?" she stood up and pointed at emi, "you planned this didn't you?"

"well it was his idea but i helped." it was no secret that emi would do anything for her bestfriend, so it wasn't a surprise that she'd do something like this, but it was a surprise that she didn't slip up and tell her about it.

after she hugged emi and held the puppy for a few minutes, she pulled finn into the kitchen to be alone for a minute. "is everything okay?" he asked, worry quickly filling his eyes.

"yeah, of course it is. everything's perfect, but why would you do this for me? i mean how'd you even remember that i wanted a dog?" finn cupped her cheeks with both of his hand and looked her in the eye, "so i could tell you that i loved you in person." and before she could reply he gently put his lips on hers, melting into her touch.

"and i'll always remember things you tell me, even the little things." eden couldn't help but smile like an idiot, she didn't know how to express her feelings so all she could do was giggle. "i love you too, finn. thank you for this, all of it." she couldn't of asked for a better way to spend her saturday night.
