~third person POV~

Scarlett closed her eyes as she tried to relax and go to sleep. Sapphire was already asleep on her temporary bed, but the redhead couldn't seem to join her in the dream world. She twisted and turned before sighing and simply staring at the wall. Her mind traveled to what Will had proposed to her and Sapphire. He told them that he'd be more than happy to take them in and that he would talk to his wife about it. At first, the girls had obviously refused since they didn't want to intrude, but the soldier had managed to convince them in the end.

Sitting up on the bed, Scarlett sighed and ran her fingers through her hair before getting up and walking over to her best friend's bed.

"Sapph... Sapph, wake up." She whispered and shook the bluenette's shoulder until the girl groaned.

"Scar? What is it?" She asked groggily as she used her elbows to push herself up into a sitting position.

"I can't sleep." The redhead admitted and Sapphire sighed.

"Something on your mind?" She asked while gesturing for the girl to sit.

Scarlett released a soft sigh before nodding and sitting down.

"There are a lot of things on my mind if I'm being honest." She told her.

"Wanna talk about it?" Sapphire's question made Scarlett raise an eyebrow.

"You already know." She stated the obvious and Sapphire nodded.

"I know, but talking usually helps." She said simply.

"Well, with everything going on. Waking up in that abandoned building, being able to see the Autobots, being here... It's just.. stressing me out, you know? I'm happy that we got to see them and I got to save Jazz, but I never thought... I didn't think... Ugh!" Scarlett brushed her left hand through her hair in frustration. "I just... I don't know.. I miss my family and the others.. I guess you really should be careful what you wish for, huh?" The redhead gave a bitter smile and Sapphire grabbed her hand before squeezing it reassuringly.

"We'll make it through this. You are the one who says how we have to look on the bright side. You get to meet the Autobots and save them." She reminded and Scarlett nodded.

"I guess, but--" She tried to say, but Sapphire cut her off.

"Just think about the positive things. You'll meet the Autobots for real, save them and I'll be with you every step of the way." She smiled slightly and Scarlett grinned.

"You really are my best friend."

"Yeah, yeah. Now go to bed 'coz I wanna go back to sleep." The bluenette shooed her and the redhead laughed before nodding and going to bed.

"Goodnight, Sapph."

"G'night, Scar."
