Chapter 14

Today is the first day of magcon. Kayla, Connor, and Morgan, are all here. Their mom is in jail. Thank The Lord. And luckily we don't have to worry about where everyone will stay until we get back.

It seems like everyone likes eachother... I'm kind of getting annoyed with Matt though. He keeps trying to get closer to Kayla. On our first day. He also knows she's mine and yet still continues to push it.

"Hey Matt, can I talk to you alone in the hall for a minute?" I asked when I had enough of him and Kayla.

"Sure," he said and got up as did I.

Once we were in the hall I felt a little annoyance build up inside me. But I tried keeping it cool.

"Listen dude, I feel like you have been getting closer to Kayla and I just wanted to let you know she's mine. Don't get to close," I said.

"Woah Taylor, I don't like Kayla," he said. Hah, lies.

"Whatever you say. Just watch out," I said then walked back inside.

(Matts POV)

Dammit, I just lied to my best friends face. What do I do!? I can't control my feelings. But I can try to hide them. But she's just so beautiful and nice and so funny.

I walked down the hall. I needed a moment away from everyone. I walked to the soda machine and bought two cokes. One for me and one for Kayla. Doesn't hurt to be friendly, right?

I walked back to the room. I handed Kayla her coke and Taylor gave me the death stare. What the hell has gotten into him. I can be a nice friend?

"Matt," he said.

"Taylor," I said jokingly.

"Please stop hitting on MY girl," he semi-yelled.

"I can't be nice?" I asked.

"No!" He said before getting up and storming out.

"What was that about?" Kayla asked.

"Nothing," I said.

"I'm gonna go check on him. He seemed upset. Be right back," she said.

UGH. She's too nice! He's fine! He's just jealous that I'm trying to win her over. Goddamn.

"Dude, I think you should back off Kayla a little. You do know what happened the other night, right?" Cameron said.

"Yeah." I said. But honestly I didn't know. And I didn't want to.
