RAIN HAMMERED down onto the wind shield, the screen wipers flicking up and down as the two girls stared emotionlessly out the window.

A door to a whole new world had been opened to the two Argent teenagers, along with a strange family secret.

Kate flicked a switch causing electric currents to be sent through Derek's body, his screams echoing around the room as the girls watched in panic.

"What are you doing to him? Is that gonna kill him?" Allison asked in a hurry, her eyes widening as Derek struggled to escape.

"Oh, come on, kiddo. Don't get all ethical on me now." Kate teased.

"What is he?" Scarlett didn't take her eyes off of Derek as he yelled in pain.

"Shape-shifter. Lycan. Werewolf!" Kate chuckled, "But to me he's just another dumb animal."

The volt meter only went up as Kate spoke, causing more groans of pain to leave Derek.

"Come here," Kate used her fingers to pry open his mouth, reaching canine teeth that could rip anyone apart within seconds, "See these right here? These are canines, also known as fangs."

Allison and Scarlett took a step closer, closely examining him. They made sure to keep their distance, though. Better to be safe than sorry.

"Made for the shredding and tearing of flesh," Kate told them, "Not something you'd find on those little leaf-eating herbivores, is it?"

Allison shook her head in, still clearly in shock, "This is a joke to you?"

"Sweetheart, their are werewolves running around in the world," Kate informed them, "Everything's a joke to me. How else do you think I stay sane."

"So," Allison started, "It was him at the high school and all the other animal attacks?"

Kate turned of the shining light, grabbing both of the girls by their arms and pulling them away from the werewolf, "There's actually three of them. Another younger one like him called the Beta, and then there's the Alpha. The Alpha's the pack leader. Bigger, stronger, nastier."

"Those are the real ugly mother. . ."

Sirens blared as the flashing lights snapped the girls out of their trance. Allison tore her glassy eyes away from the road, "Oh, god, not now."

"When were they gonna tell us?" Allison demanded as Kate slid the door shut.

Kate sighed, "They still haven't decided if there gonna tell either of you."

"So you told us?" Scarlett tried to make sense of the situation, but the more information her mother told them the more confused she got.

"Well, you're my daughter so I called the shots with you. However, Allison needed to know as well."
