Castiel-
A yellow flower tucked behind an ear. The soft blanket perfect for a picnic. Slow, comforting kisses while laying down in a field. All these things ran through his mind as he held your wrinkled hand. You had once told him that your biggest fear was that he would leave you once you had gotten old. He smiled and quietly whispered,
"Proved you wrong."
This was why he was hesitant to start a relationship with you at first. You were a human and he knew one day he would have to let you go. But then, you had kissed him out of the blue one day and he couldn't help but fall in love with you. He had not regretted what he had chosen.  He had chosen you.
He sighed as he looked at your peaceful face and knew it was your time to go. The heart monitor stopped its slow beeping and instead stayed steady at the high pitch screech that was just a fraction of the screaming in his mind. To see you gone was horrible, but he knew the next days and years without you beside him would be a fate worse then death. Tears rolled down his face and his face was twisted into a grimace of the pain he felt of your passing. Minutes passed and he wiped away his tears and went to your heaven. He still goes there every day, where you're young and happy and just for a moment it's like you never left.
Dean- "I'm not going to make it."
Panic took over his mind at those six simple words, spoken with a calmness that contrasted the turmoil within him. He grabbed your hand and pushed down hard on the gaping wound on your side, causing you to wince.
"You'll make it. You're going to be okay!"
Your eyes were soft as you put your small hand over his.
"Dean, baby..."
He froze. You never called him baby unless things were really bad.
"No, no. You can't die!" His voice cracked, his eyes desperately searching for hope in your own.
"Dean, always remember I love you and you are worth everything I could possibly give. These years with you and Sam have been the happiest of my life. I..." You gasped as pain spread through your body.
He gently cupped his hand on your cheek.
"I gotta go, Dean. Keep fighting. Keep..." your eyes fluttered as your body felt the effects of all the blood you'd lost. With the last of your strength, you whispered what you wanted most to say.
"I... love you, Dean."
Your breathing rapidly got faster until you sighed and your soul left your body. Dean sobbed, holding your body, whispering those words back to unhearing ears.
Sam- His eyes fluttered open as you shook him, calling his name. He was about to ask why you were waking him up so late, but then he saw your face. You were crying and in obvious anguish.
"What's wrong, Y/N?"
"Sam, I don't have much time left. They'll be here soon."
He sat up, now fully awake.
"What is it? Why don't we have time?"
"I..." You paused, heaving a shaky sigh, "I'm sorry, but I couldn't help it. You were paying there, lifeless and bloody and I just couldn't stand it. I had to!"
Sam was now in full alert and his voice was low and firm.
"Y/N, what did you do?"
You looked down at your hands.
"I made a deal for your soul."
His eyes widened and he sat back, stunned.
"They gave me a year."
Sam grabbed your arms, raising his voice.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
You slumped, defeated.
"That was part of the deal. I couldn't tell you or try to get out of it or they would take me earlier."
He glanced at the clock.
11:54
"Sam, I woke you up to say goodbye."
He frantically got out of the bed you two shared.
"We can stop this. We have to stop this!"
"Sam, there's nothing we can do, except say what we need to say."
"No! I won't accept this! You can't die!"
"I love you."
Sam glanced at the clock again.
11:55
"I don't think I would've gotten this far without you."
"No, stop!"
"You are perfect in any way and deserve so much better than the life you've been given."
"Please, no."
11:56
"I couldn't help but fall in love with you and I hope that the rest of your life is amazing. You've made me a better person and I don't deserve you."
He sat down on the bed next to you, holding your hands, accepting what you wanted to do in these last moments.
"I can't thank you enough. I..." You held back a sob.
Sam hugged you and whispered in your ear.
"I love you so much. I don't want to live without you."
11:57
"I can't do this, Y/N. I just... can't."
You both sobbed in each other's arms, the gravity of the situation proving a crushing force.
11:59
You leaned back, looking in his eyes, trying to somehow engrave your message in his memories.
"Don't live without me, live for me."
Those words would haunt him for years to come, as would the heartbreaking scene of your fingers slipping from his as you were dragged away.
