Brendon-

I groaned a bit, feeling sore. I rubbed my forehead and sat up. I was back at the castle and in the infirmary. "Brendon!" A woman's voice cried out. It was my mother. I groaned again as she ran to my bedside.

"What happened?" I grumbled. "Pirates attacked London! One knocked you out and one of the knights found you unconscious in the plaza district!" She explained.

It all came back now. "Jenna!" I shouted. I threw the blanket off me and stood up, but my mom pushed me back down on the bed. "What do you think you're doing? You have to rest!" She protested.

"I need to check on Jenna! I need to make sure she's safe!" I argued back. "But-" I interrupted her. "I don't care for my injuries! I'm going to make sure that Jenna is safe! I'd walk neck deep in hell for that woman!" I yelled.

My mother stood there in shock. I stared at her for a moment before standing back up and walking out. "She's gone, Brendon." She breathed. I stopped in my tracks as I was about to close the door behind me.

I turned around and looked at her. "What...?" I asked. "They took her. The pirates. Thay took Jenna for ransom." She explained. My eye began twitching. I turned and pointed at the nearest servant.

"You there, get me Paul Vanderson and round up every available sailor and knight we have to send out to sea!" I shouted. He just stared dumbfounded. My mother walked up beside me.

"You heard the prince! Go do as you're told!" She commanded. "Uh, yes, you majesty!" He called out and rushed to do as he was told. "I'll go inform your father." Said mother. I went to my room to go get changed.

Just then, there was a knock on my door. "Come in." I called. One of the butlers walked in. "Sir, Earl Youngblood, the vicount Wellington, and sir Vadnerson are on their ways.

Your parents arranged to have a meeting in the shire hall interior. Are you well enough to join them?" He explained. "Of course I'll be joining, Sebastian!" I shouted. He just bowed and left.

I sighed and put on my crown. I got dressed in the white suit I wear for court before heading to the shire hall interior. Sir Youngblood had just arrived. He had large bandages wrapped around his head.

He wore a back brace and casts on his left arm and right leg and was in a wheelchair! Lord, those pirates did a number on him! Vanderson and Wellington had also arrived.

Along with them were their wives, and Jenna's older sisters, Heather and Brook. They looked bored and agitated. We all exchanged glances, but said nothing to each other.

Time skip

Everyone was seated in the shire hall as Wellington made his statement. We were all discussing a plan to rescue Jenna. "I can't afford to give up all my family's fortune to those pirates, but I can afford to hire you and your men to save my daughter!"

Sir Youngblood said to Vanderson. I quickly stood up. "You won't be having to pay Vanderson. I'll pay him instead. Jenna is your daughter, but she is also my fiance, and will one day be queen of this country.

I am responsible for her safety. I failed to protect her when those pirates knocked me unconscious. It is my fault." I say in defeat. "Why bother getting her back? I mean, it just sounds pointless." Brook says in a bored tone.

I glared at her. "ARE YOU STUPID OR SOMETHING?! WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!" I screamed at her. "SILENCE!" My father boomed. Brook and I glared daggers at each other. "You saw my daughter before she was kidnapped?" Mr. Youngblood asks.

I nod. "Yes. I admit I was skipping out on my duties. But when I saw Jenna wandering around, I came to her side as I did not want her out and about by herself." I explained to him.

I then turned to Vanderson. "How soon can you send your men to sea?" I asked. "Whenever you give the orders, your majesty." He answered in a bored tone. I looked at my father who nodded.

"Excellent. You will set sail immediately. I will send my men out as well to aid you, myself included!" The last thing I said seemed to shock everyone. "Uh, your highness, I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but, shouldn't you be resting?" Wellington asks.

He said it so shyly. I don't get what Brook sees in him. He such a weakling. But hey, their marriage was arranged. "I won't rest until my fiance is back home and safe!"
