Chapter 5

One month has passed. Boboiboy left Pulau Rintis – after yelling at Shizuko to get her ass at the train station – without a word. Fang was the first one to notice, since he was always aware of it.

Through the month, he'd taken close care of Boboiboy's movements. Stalkerish, sure, but he needed to know how he had changed. It was drastic, and he didn't know why. He wants to know how his rival had turned from a naïve, innocent, oblivious child into a complete teenage asshole.

8am, arrive at Tok Aba's stand for breakfast; 12pm, lunch at the stand again; 4pm, train with himself or spar with that girl in the forest; 7pm, return to Tok Aba's house; and repeat.

There wasn't anything new to this. It was the same routine for one month, and Fang had noticed the change in his diet.

Creepy? Yes. But he was desperate. Boboiboy won't even talk to them himself, and he was trying to avoid them the best he can. It almost seemed like he was hiding something.

Duh. Do you really think that everyone doesn't keep secrets? People in the city don't join hands and have therapy sessions to share secrets, alright?

Upon arriving, his diet had changed from the previous cocoa and fried foods to salads, coffee and energy drinks. Now that was alarming. Boboiboy loathed vegetables.

He had to admit... Boboiboy now had a better figure than Fang. His time on Earth didn't dampen his fighting spirit. Why did Earth people fight for a sport? That's wrong.

Fang had never seen swordsfighting competitions before, so he didn't get the gist. He had fought Boboiboy in the past to prove something. Not to win a medal.

And unfortunately, after Boboiboy left, Pulau Rintis was attacked.

Yay.

Attacked by whom? Vargoba. The guy had spent his time in the TEMPUR-A prison plotting his revenge. He got it. He massacred nearly everyone in the station and escaped to where Boboiboy and his gang was headed: Earth, Pulau Rintis.

Upon discovering cocoa as a valuable power source, he took over Pulau Rintis. Fang knew without Boboiboy, they could never possibly defeat him. He had only managed to evacuate the residents of Pulau Rintis to a ship and including his friends.

Kaizo was on the other side of the universe, but he was aware. Fang told him. He told Fang to stay at somewhere safe while he devises a plan to take Vargoba down.

So now they were on a ship, heading towards Kuala Lumpur. What would they do there, he had no idea. Their ship was destroyed by Vargoba. They had fled when they saw him.

He glanced at his friends. Yaya and Ying were crying with their mothers. Ochobot comforted Tok Aba. Gopal was being soothed by his father.

Fang turned. He had no family on earth. His brother was in space.

Really, what could they do? Fang had never been to Kuala Lumpur. Neither did his friends.

But Boboiboy did.

He lives there.

Would he help them? Even if he would, how? Nobody in Kuala Lumpur would believe their story.

The ship stopped. They were at the harbour at Penang. One of the states in Malaysia.

Fang swallowed. This was unfamiliar territory. He had no idea what he was facing.

The residents of Rintis poured out, all huddled in a group. None of them had left the island before.

"What are we going to do?" Yaya sniffed. "We don't know anyone here. I never left Pulau Rintis!"
