Aftermath

It's been a year since Josh found the Autobots and since, things lot of things have happened, basically short form, everyone got separated before the base sploided, so all Autobots and their human allies are being hunted down by the Decepticons. Josh was driving down an empty highway behind an ambulance that he was following, they both pull over into a scrapyard and it was roughly around three in the morning and no humans were around, the ambulance transformed into the field medic Ratchet and Josh climbed out of his vehicle form "so, we're staying a scrapyard?" Josh questioned "it's the only logical place to hide without being detected and without communicating with the others, we'll simply wait here" Ratchet plopped himself on top of an old stack of cars while Josh climbed on top of the hood of the GT40 and laid against the windshield looking up at the stars, hearing only crickets chirp all around them, till he heard heavy pede steps "I'm going to scout around to make sure we have not been followed" Ratchet in formed and Josh did a slight salute "aye, aye captain" he smirked as the old field medic walked off.

A short while later Ratchet returns with some supplies and in that short time Josh made a fire using some sticks and twigs lying around some scrap metal and car piles, the two were just sitting in silence for a bit till Ratchet broke the silence "so, which scientists were you an assistant too?" he asked out of curiosity, Josh thought about it for a second then looked up at him "let's see, Perceptor, Jetfire, Axiom, Red Alert, Thunderwing, and Shockwave" the soldier tilted his head a bit "why?" he wondered, Ratchet looked to the side trying to find an answer, then looked into the flames of the small campfire "I was just curious is all, also I know nothing about you" Josh smirked "so, under all that hunk of metal and grumpy attitude, you do care" Ratchet darted his gaze over to the small holoform and scowled "no, as I stated before I was only trying to get a better understanding of you" he looked back to the fire followed by Josh "uh huh" he replied with and curled up on the hood of his vehicle form "night Ratchet" the soldier stated before dozing off.

"No, NO!" Josh yelled as he sprung awake, he looked around with eyes widened and noticed that the old field medic was staring down at him in confusion "you were talking in your recharge" Ratchet stated, Josh wiped off some sweat off of his forehead "oh, whoops sorry if I woke you" he apologized "don't be, I was simply keeping watch in case we were ever followed but I'm also worried about your sake, you seem worried or you fear something" Ratchet said, Josh looked at where the fire use to be lit "it's nothing Ratchet. You should get some sleep anyway, I'll keep watch" the soldier offered the medic simply nodded and transformed into his vehicular mode and went into recharge.

~Timeskip- 6:00pm~

Josh collected more sticks and twigs for the fire, he was clicking two rocks together hoping to get some sparks to light the wood, as Ratchet came back from scouting the area. The sun was starting to go down and the temperature was starting to drop, one degree at a time. Josh was huddled inside the GT40 kicking on the heating system to keep warm "are you warm enough?" the good doctor asked, Josh replied with a nod as he shivered a bit still being a bit chilled from the weather outside. The stars were finally visible in the night sky as the moonlight bounced off the scrapped metal and broken down vehicles around the yard, Ratchet was trying to get some sleep when the sound of an engine could be heard pulling into the scrap yard "Ratchet" Josh yelled a whisper, the sound was getting closer and Josh tried one more time, trying not to alert their position "Ratchet!" he whispered a bit louder but nothing, then a camaro pulls up in front of them and a small boy climbs out I know that kid Josh thought to himself, he climbed out of the vehicle and ran to the child "Raf!" he yelled and hugged the little man "it's good to see you too Josh" the 12 year old said with glee as he smiled "Ratchet it's Raf and.. Bumblebee?" Josh looked over at the camaro and heard the beeps and whirls of the scout "nice paint job Bee" the young soldier complimented "would you three keep it down, your interrupting my power down" the old medic grumbled "Ratchet it's us!" Raf exclaimed

"yes I see that, now go away! Your interrupting my power down" the medic growled Josh looked over at his vehicle form "Ratchet, we can try and find the others, we can stop the Decepticons" he stated "we can't stop Megatron, not anymore. The war is over, and we lost" Raf ran up to him a bit angered "you're giving up?! We can't just give up!" the young human yelled as the medic transformed "then tell me what we can do without communications, without a ground bridge, without a base of operations or resources of any kind!" Ratchet's optics glowed a cyan blue in the dark as the black and yellow camaro beeped and whirred communicating with the human and medic "Bee's right. We know Starscream had access to a ground bridge while he was operating solo" the boy translated "yes, yes, he'd clearly been using the derelict Decepticon ship the Harbinger. What does that have to do with anything?!" everyone was getting frustrated and worried about everybody's survival "it could be full of Cybertronian tech, and it's probably abandoned again now that Starscream's back with the 'Cons" Raf yelled feeling hurt, that his friend is giving up so easily "well, resources won't be much use, not without someone to-lead us" the old field medic said with sympathy "it's a start!" you can see small tears building in the humans eyes "you'll have to start without me. This someone else's fight now"

Raf's fists shook "there is no one else, Ratchet just us, just the team" the medic shook his helm and transformed back into his vehicle, looking away from them "please! Just let me rust in peace" Josh ran up to Ratchet and kicked his pumper a few times "come on Ratch, don't give up so easily" he got no answer he turned to look at the small human and the camaro "come on, Bee" he climbed inside Bumblebee but before he he closed the door the child looked toward Josh "you coming?" he asked, Josh looked back at Ratchet then sighed and climbed into the GT40 as Bee and Raf drove off, the soldier followed them out of the yard.
