When they told us we would be fighting against the living cats, I felt a rush of energy pump through me. Adrenaline, I think they call it. I would finally get revenge against the cats that threw me out. I will not be treated like crow-food this time.

I wasn't chosen to mentor a cat into fighting with us. Only Tigerstar's goons got that job. I was told to prepare myself for the oncoming battle.

Ah, I'm getting ahead of myself. I should tell you who I am. My name is Sparkwing. I am a cat who has seen much, most of it being darkness. My once red coat is now shrouded with darkness, and my once clean claws are forever stained with blood. I am not noticed much in the Dark Forest, as I have faded over the many years I have spent here, in exile. How did I get here, you ask? That's not important. Back to our plans...

Tigerstar had told us that we were his army. He was our leader, and we all accepted that. He told us that we would be able to destroy the clans that hurt us. This was very promising, because if you are in the Dark Forest you tend to have some needs for revenge boiling deep in you blood. We would escape our shadowy home and take over.

The night of the massacre had come too soon. We had all sharpened our claws and our blood was boiling. We all licked our sharp teeth and prepared ourselves for the intense taste of blood. "You will fight for the kill. Nothing must get in your way. Every cat down there is your enemy!" Tigerstar told us. Fighting like rogues was already in our nature. But we were not prepared for the clan cats to fight the same.

We arrived by the lake, divided up into smaller groups throughout the territories. I was eager to leave, and was blessed with being in the first wave of cats. We set out for WindClan, and I could see, very faintly, other groups heading for the other clans. No living cats in sight, we ran. We were greeted with a patrol of WindClan cats. The first thing they did was send some of their group back to camp to get reinforcements. Stupid cats. We slaughtered all of them before their reinforcements even knew what was happening. I ripped at fur and bit at throats senselessly, killing cats and spilling blood every which way. My

hunger for revenge was not yet satisfied. I wanted to go to RiverClan, so I set off. My group followed me. Our plans were ruined by meeting ThunderClan cats. I fought a tabby tom who looked strikingly like Tigerstar. I raked my claws over his shoulder, he hissed and raked my muzzle. I knocked him over, and prepared to deliver a death blow. He wasn't ready for death, however, and raked my underbelly. I fell on him, and bit his ear. The tabby yowled in pain. It was satisfying. I was about to kill him, when I heard Thistleclaw hiss at me. "We don't have time for these cats. We were told to go to RiverClan a minute ago." I spat at my opponent, then sprinted to my patrol. We flew past other groups of cats. Blood covered the ground every way you looked, as well as the bodies of murdered cat. For the first time, a dead body made my stomach churn when I saw a cat with his throat literally ripped out. What were we doing? I stopped running. Why were we killing all these cats? No one noticed that I had stopped. Tigerstar wanted revenge, he simple convinced us to do this for him. Of course, there were some cats on my kill list, but not those WindClan cats. I snapped out of it when I felt claws on my hindquarters. I faced my new opponent, a cat from StarClan I knew too well. "Hello, Sparkwing. Looking for your revenge?" She taunted. I jumped on her, yowling like a mad cat. I ripped her throat out, not caring about my previous moment of enlightenment. I had just killed a StarClan cat. I was heading to RiverClan, when I heard a great thud.

A rock from around the lake had come loose, shaken by some cats who had been fighting on it, now crushed. I was caught. I was frozen.

Everything went black.

It seemed like it had been several days, but I woke up. I heard a confrontation going on. It sounded like Tigerstar and that one flame-cat he was always ranting about. Everything was too fuzzy to make out, but they starting fighting. I think both died.

Tigerstar could no longer rule over us. We were nothing. No leader. No backup plan.

What you do not know is that we are still in the Dark Forest, building our army. Look next to you. Is your soft kittypet sitting there? Keep an eye on him. You don't know what he does in his slumber.

We are still out there. Watch you back if you value your life.
