I returned to Hogwarts to find Ginny with Cedric in the library. Most of the students had no idea who he was since he'd left so long ago. However, Ginny looked at him the way she used to look at Harry. As if he was some super hero.
Personally, I could see it. Cedric was a Hufflepuff, one of my favorite houses since after the war. They had been the only house except Gryffindor to stay and fight during the battle of Hogwarts.
"So how was America?" Ginny asked Cedric, and even though we weren't supposed to be talking in the library, I figured that I would just let it slide for today.
"It was lovely." Cedric responded "The magical community over there is a lot smaller than it is here, so everything seems to be more peaceful."
By 'more peaceful', I knew he had meant that there were no evil wizards with a discriminatory cult as his following, but I appreciated him not putting it that way as I still had quite a bit of recovering to do after the war.
"So how was Ilvermorny?" I asked, redirecting the topic "I've read so much about it, and from what I can tell it seems lovely. Though, even I know that there is only so much you can learn from books without experiencing it for yourself."
"Yeah, it was--" He started, but was cut off short once Harry had seen him
"Cedric!" Harry called "I had no idea you were back!"
"Well, it's only been a few days now, and considering all you went through I thought I'd give it a few days before letting you know I was back."
The two of them had kept talking about what had happened during the past years. Harry had explained what he'd missed in the war (and there was definitely major exaggeration at play) Cedric had told him about Ilvermorny and the states, and after that the two talked about quidditch.
Ginny looked at the pair. "Maybe we could go on double dates, eh?" she said with a smirk
"Maybe." I said "Except you're not dating Cedric and I'm not dating Harry."
"Yet." she said and then glanced over at the two, "Hey Cedric and Harry!"
"Ginny, no." I warned underneath my breath
"Yeah?"
"Would you two like to go to Hogsmeade with Hermione and I?" she asked "We could grab a butter beer at the three broomsticks?"
"Sounds good to me." Cedric had said "I haven't been since I've been back, and I think it'll be fun. For old times sake."
Ginny gave me a smile. "Good. So it's a date."

FanfictionReturning back for her seventh year was hard enough as it was, but even harder than that was admitting that her feelings for Harry had changed.
