                      -YOUR P.O.V.-
I opened my eyes but closed them right away because of the sunlight. I opened them slowly trying to adjust to the sunlight. I looked at the window and remembered closing the curtains last night. I felt someone on the bed. I sat up and saw Diego on the edge of my bed. He was saying something but I couldn't hear him.

"Diego I can't hear you...what...speak louder"

That's when I remembered I put some cotton balls in my ear. I took them out and looked at him.

"Now can you hear me"

"Yeah, sorry"

"Why did you have those in your ears" he looked at me with a confused face

"Because Haylie brought someone over and was making to much noise". I said laying back down.

He looked at me and began laughing. He stood up and looked back at me.

"Come on get up, breakfast is ready"

"Okay"

He walked out laughing. I stood up and stretched before heading into the bathroom attached to my room. I cleaned up and did my buissness. I tied my hair in a bun and walked out to the kitchen. Diego was serving breakfast on the kitchen island.

"Need help" he turned around and shook his head.

"No, it's okay. I got it"

I pulled out a chair and sat down.

"What time did you get home"

"Around four in the morning"

Diego's schedule was always a mess. There would be days we wouldn't see him because of how busy the department would be and when he would get days off he would be in his office with all the paper work. He never complains but I could see how tired he would be sometimes. He turned around and handed me my plate before sitting down with his.

"Thank you"

He smiled and nodded his head. He turned on the t.v. and began eating. After a while we heard Haylie talking to someone. She walked out with a guy. He looked at me and Diego before storming out of the house.

"Who was that" Diego asked with a confused face.

"This guy from my Bio class" She looked at him and began eating.

I looked at her before talking "Haylie can't you guys do it at his place or somewhere else"

"Why" she asked with a smirk on her face.

Diego looked at her and began talking "Because your brother and your bestfriend can hear you scream his name and its disgusting"

"Fine" she laughed before shoving a piece of toast in her mouth.

After breakfast me and Haylie cleaned up. I walked back to my room and showered. I changed into a black hoodie and some white shorts that hid under my hoodie. I let my hair down, waiting for it to dry. I applied a little bit of makeup to hide the fact that I looked like a zombie because of the lack of sleep I got last night. I grabbed my phone and bag and walked out to the living room. Haylie was laying on the couch watching some type of documentary. I walked to the kitchen and grabed a water bottle and some snacks.

"What time are you coming out"

I turned around and saw Haylie sitting on the counter eating some grapes.

"My last class doesn't finish until nine p.m." I said

"Okay make sure to pay attention and eat something on campus"

"Yes mom" I smiled at her. She rolled her eyes at me and walked back to the kitchen. I followed her and put my things in my bag.

"Want me to drop you off" she looked at me waiting for an answer.

"No, it's okay"

"You sure"

"Yeah" I nodded and walked to the closet to grab my shoes.

"You better be wearing shorts under that hoodie Des" I turned around and saw Diego looking at me.

"I am, look" I lifted my hoodie showing him my shorts.

"Diego come on she's not a little girl no more, she's in college" Haylie looked at him and smiled.

"I know but she's still eighteen" he looked her with his arms crossed trying to prove a point.

I looked at both of them and smiled. They always turn into parent mode.
"I have to go now"

"I'll drop you off"
I looked at him as he grabbed his keys and a couple of files that were on the desk.

"No, it's okay. Today's your day off you should rest a bit"

"I got called in for a case. Come on let's go. Bye Haylie"

"Okay"
I grabbed my bag and made my way to the door.
"Bye Haylie"

She turned around and waved at us.
"Bye drive safe and pay attention in class"

I walked out with Diego behind me. He closed the door before walking to the car. I got in the passenger seat. While he put his stuff in the back of the car. He got in and turned in the car. We talked about school most of the time until we reached campus. He pulled over to the security booth.

"Thank you, I'll see you later" I looked at him and smiled.

"Okay, if you need anything call me okay"

"Okay" I was about to get out of the car when he suddenly grabbed my wrist. I turned around and looked at him.

"Forgetting something"
I looked at him with a confused face. He pointed at his cheek. I smiled and leaned in and kissed his him on the cheek.

"Okay I have to go now"
I got off the car and looked at him.

"Be safe okay"
I nodded my head and waved bye to him. He smiled and drove off. I walked to security and showed them my student ID before walking into campus. Diego wanted me to go to the safest college in L.A. mostly because he would always have his protection mode on when it came to me. He always made sure I knew that he cared about me. Haylie also made sure I always knew she would always be there for me. Both of them always made sure I knew that we were family and that they would always be there for me.
