"People will stare.. make it worth their while"
-Harry Winston
Ten sets of eyes stared at me while I sat in a chair in front of them. They were all sitting (or trying to sit) in what looked like a uncomfortable couch that was way past its life expectancy or standing up.
"So this is the unknown Gallagher?" A VERY pretty black woman said turning her head to my older sister, Fiona. Fiona told me her name was Veronica, but everyone called her V. She is also Fi's best friend. Fi nodded, smiling back at me. You could tell she was trying her hardest to make me as comfortable as possible..to make us all as comfortable as she possibly could. But seeing as this was clearly a new and sudden change for all of us things were about to get a little.. interesting.
"Where are you from?" The redhead asked. That was Ian I believe. When Steve pointed out who was who when we made our way into the family home I tried to make a mental note of connecting names to faces.
"Uh, I guess I was born here in Chicago but I was raised in Florida." I replied, looking at Ian. He didn't really look like the rest of us. He was extremely pale like me, but had pretty nice fiery red hair. He smiled, and nodded curtly. I had a wonderful feeling that Ian was going to be the sibling I got along with the most.
"What's your favorite color?" Debbie asked. Debbie was the third to last of my siblings I needed to get to know.I smiled. I tend to do that when I'm slightly nervous or I don't have any other reaction to what ever is going on.
"Personally, I'm rather a big fan of the color black. But depending on who your talking to black can be considered either a color or a void of all colors. Some even call it a shade. But again it depends on who your talking to" I said softly. These people probably think I'm some uppity snob from Florida who claimed to have this Frank and Monica as parents and wanted to reap what ever monetary gains I possibly could...which was far from the truth.
Mandy, the girl I thought was pretty and had pitch black hair, snorted and shook her head."Typical rich bitch educated answer" she spoke, taking a drag from her cigarette and exhaling as fast as she inhaled. But the issue with me was this... I don't exactly like input from someone who in all reality doesn't have any business putting their 2 cents into the conversation in the first place.
"Ya know... Mandy was it? I don't believe Debbie was asking YOU the question. She was asking me. And you're right, I am actually highly educated. Before I fuckin' came to the south side of Chicago in damn near the ass end of the fucking summer I was in college for interior design. Now I know you probably have no idea what that is, seeing as the better part of you clearly was left running down your mothers' leg after your father decided to fuck her when he mistaken her for a cow but that does not give you the justification to butt your way into a conversation I'm trying to have with MY siblings. And now Mandy, the key word in that sentence was MY siblings. Not yours, MINE. now please do us all a favor and fuck off will you?" I spoke with my head cocked to the side and hazel eyes more than likely a fiery ember as of right now. Mandy looked positively wrecked that someone she nor anyone else in this room doesn't know just insulted her entire existence, but I'm tired. (and) Fucking starving. She got up from her seat and pretty much fast walked out the door with my brother Lip trying not to laugh following her. After the front door slammed shut everyone else in the room started laughing hysterically."Jesus, kid. You got some balls saying that to a Milkovich." Kevin, who was Veronica's husband, said, his head shaking.
"A what?" I asked, honestly not knowing what the fuck a Milkovich was.
"A Milkovich. Whole family is known for their dad being in and out of prison, the gang of brothers being the south side's nastiest trash and Mandy being the princess of it all" Fiona said, wiping the tears away from her eyes. She continued on, saying "I can't believe you said the better part of you was running down your mothers leg... that's a Frank comment". Everyone nodded their head in agreement.
"So how old are you kiddo?" Steve asked.
"21. I turn 22 in February" I replied, running my hand through my straightened shoulder length blonde hair."Well. I think it's time for a drink. Anyone else up for going to The Albi?" V said, her hands resting on her hips. The older bunch of the present group nodded, and the younger ones shrugged and just went about their daily business.
To The Albi we went.

I sat along the bar with Ian, Fiona, Steve and V. Kevin was behind the bar.. I guess him and Veronica owned the place. Kevin passed everyone their drinks but when he got to me I guess he was pretty clueless as towards what I wanted."Uh... do you drink kid?" He asked looking at me.
"I'll pass. Strange place, new faces. Don't need to embarrass myself more jjuusstt yet I think." I softly replied. He nodded, handing me a bottle of water anyways. Soon after that the door opened and Lip came trotting in, his hand running through his curly hair.
He pointed at me. "You're in deep shit, Dahlia."I looked at him funny, and again cocked my head to the side. "Why am I in deep shit?"
After I spoke those words, the door to the Albi opened and in walked a group of guys who made their way to the end of the bar and stared directly at me.
Lip sighed, and shook his head. "That's why".I looked at Ian, who looked mortified. "Ian? Who the fuck are those people staring at me?"
He smiled at me, but still obviously very nervous.
"The Milkovich's."
~~~~~~~~So this is the end of Chapter two! How are you guy's liking it so far? I really would like some feedback. If you want to... vote. if you dont, i dont give a shit.
But in all seriousness... how about that episode of Ian going to jail?! I screamed when I watched it.
Until next time,
