CHAPTER 1 | THIS IS THE PART WHERE YOU RUN
IT was late at night and the streets was dead. Considering the fact that it was dark and after midnight justifies why there's no one on the roads or streets. Except for them. Hope, Faiths's twin sister, was sitting up in the front seat next to their headmaster, Doctor Saltzman. Faith was sitting in the back seat fighting to keep her eyes open. Faith was extremely tired, but her sister pulled Faith out of her sleep telling her that they had to leave with Dr. Saltzman immediately.
She didn't specify the details until they were on the road. Apparently, there was a teenage boy who's in foster and his foster parents sent him to a priest, under the absurd assumption that he was being possessed by the devil. It's hard not to make fun the situation considering they're only human, and they don't know anything about the supernatural world.
They had to drive all the way from Mystic Falls, Virginia all the way to Atlanta, Georgia. She doesn't know why they couldn't just use magic to get their quicker to make life easier, but she guessed that she's the only smart one in this car. This brought her back to the time when her mom, Hope, and Faith were always on the road when they were younger. Faith used to hate the fact that they always had to move around for their safety. She always wanted just to stick in one place, and just live a somewhat "normal" life. With kids her age and going to a public school. But, she knew from a very young age that she will never know the concept of normal.
But, life isn't all that bad with a little magic and the ability to turn into a hairy beast whenever she wants. Just add being vampire as the cherry on top.
"Are we there yet?" Faith asked complaining as if she was a child enduring the fact that they've been driving for God's know how long, and on the verge of going into a sleeping coma for the rest of her life when they get back to the boarding school.
"Almost, at least 10 to 20 minutes." Dr. Saltzman replied back as he was focusing on the road.
"Can you at least go faster for my sake." Faith added sitting up from her seat as she sat was between the two seats upfront.
"This is as fast as I can go Faith." Dr. Saltzman reply back. Faith let out a heavy sigh before leaning back and closing her eyes.
"I don't even know why I'm here." Faith mumble to herself as her eyes were still shut.
"Because, you have a way of making people feel comfortable, and we'll need that when we catch this Rafael guy." Her sister responded, speaking for the first time. Hope tends to do that, listening into a conversation, not really putting her input unless it's needed.
"I don't mind helping out, it's just really late out tonight, and also I'm tired. Also, it's a school night."
"Well, when we get back I'll allow you to sleep in and you won't have to attend your classes tomorrow." Dr. Saltzman said as he was negotiating with the youngest twin.
