CHAPTER 2 | SOME PEOPLE JUST WANT TO WATCH THE WORLD BURN

THE search for Landon Kirby has gotten extremely serious. I haven't seen my sister this pissed off, not even when we were being controlled by the hollow. And if things couldn't get any worse, they just did. This morning, Hope was sent to the office because, Emma, the teacher who operates the beacon and can detect if any student has been doing black magic, or anything that's students shouldn't be doing, had called in Hope, which is something I totally forgotten that Emma can do.

I couldn't sleep that night, because I had a feeling that we were going to get caught, which I was right about. I was currently pacing around the room, waiting for my sister to come back, and I haven't been so nervous in my life. As I was pacing like a mad man, I stopped briefly before looking out my window. A bunch of teenage boys from our rival school, Mystic Falls High School, was vandalizing our school vans. I let out an annoyed sighed, but ignored them, too stressed out to deal with those assholes right now.

Which simply means that it was game day today against the Timberwolves. Usually I would be on the bleachers with my friends, watching the game as both teams goes head to head, even though we always loose, on purpose may I add, but I have more bigger issues than some game. It's been twelve hours and Landon Kirby was still no where to be found. As each second goes by while he's out there, the more our school is at risk of him exposing our secret and what we truly are, and what we can do.

Suddenly, as I was still looking out the window, the door open and I immediately turned around and saw Hope walking inside our room.

"Well what she say?" I asked anxiously as I waited "patiently" for my twin sister to reply.

"I just told her why I used dark magic, and she asked me if anyone helped me." She says nonchalantly as if this wasn't a huge deal.

"What did you say when you mentioned my name?" I immediately asked back feeling more anxious than ever. I would've been sent to the office by now for integration.

"I didn't. I just told her it was me. Only me." She said shrugging her shoulders. My eyes widen.

"Why the hell would you do that! This whole lie is going to come around and bite both of our asses." I exclaimed. She's digging a huge hole filled with lies, and it's going to get bigger and deeper. I knew I should've came with her, but her being the "older" protective sister, she didn't allow me to. Saying that she has this all under control.

"Look, I forced you to do black magic with me, I can tell that you didn't want to do it, but you did it anyway. You're my sister and it's my job to protect and look after you. This is me looking out for you."
