A/n: Hey you lovely readers. Just letting you know the first couple or so chapters might be a tad short until the story really gets going, but it'll be worth the wait I promise! Time to start off the chapter with some lovely angst we all know and love so well. Might be triggering to some people? Read at your own risk ღ.

Flashback

"But honey, you still wish to be a hero don't you?" Asked your mother as she held you close to her, back when you were around five.

"Yes! But not if it means being cruel like father is. I don't want to use his quirk to hurt people!" You said as you cried in your mother's arms, after a grueling training session from your father.

"You don't have to use your father's quirk to hurt people like he does. Use it to save people and to protect them," she said as she stroked your (h/c) hair gently.

You looked up at your mother with eyes red and puffy from crying, curiousity in them as well.

"Use your quirk to protect and save others, just like a hero does. Become the hero you want to be," your mother continued to say while still calming you down.

End of Flashback

That was one of the only clear memories you had of your mother, the only decent one at least. You were really too young to remember her, and the memories you did remember were ones with her crying. You could never remember why she was crying, but she was always quick to try and make you feel better.

She died when you were around six years old. You don't know till this day what happened to her, just that when you came home from school one day, she was no where to be found. You tried asking your father what happened, but all he said to you in a cold voice was, "she won't be coming home." He didn't even look you in the face when he said it, just had his back turned, while doing whatever he was doing at the time.

After that, you really didn't ask many questions. You just tried to survive the best you could while living with your father. He was emotionally abusive to you, yelling at you whenever you messed up, even beating you some times during your trainings.

Your training was grueling for sure, and you hated every minute of it, though it did help you develp your quirk. You developed it on your own time as well when you could, to make it your own. You hated using it the way father made you, so you controlled it to where it wouldn't cause such destruction and harm.

Through out shchool, you were always cheerful and cracking jokes with your friends. Even getting in occasional mischief. You stayed positive, even though you knew you would be coming home to your father's abuse. You would become rather sad, and cry whenever you were alone, hense the reason you surrounded yourself with friends, and kept a smile on your face the best you could.

However, after all the years had passed, you decided to enroll in UA, the best hero course there was. You were going to become the hero you wanted to be. You wanted to make your mother proud

A/n: oof, sorry if that was a bit agnsty. I warned you though, didn't I? Don't worry, it'll get happier later ღ
