four siblings went
to a carnival
once,

choosing a roller-coaster
they sat for a
spin,

the little one was
budding with elation,
sprouting
out shouts of delight
on the new ride,

while the big one
was warming from inside,
smelling
the clear blue sky,
it was fun
to be out,

though not so much
for her twin,
who was frozen
to the depths,
chilling
but heart still beating
rejuvenating for next thrill,

then there was the
last one,
shedding tears and
bawling with the winds,
wanting
to be let down,

each one had
their own fears and
strengths,
holding on together
each others' hands,

to visit the carnival
each year
anew,

rotating through rides
experiencing and expressing
life.

roller-coaster;
for it circles through, again and again.
