Chapter 2Sunlight peeked through Ami's thick curtains. Cold morning air filled her room. Ami rolled in bed stretching. Pain no longer bothered her. She was good as new.
Knock, knock
"Ami, I made breakfast. Sorry about last night." Han said from across the door.
"I'll be out in a minute," Ami rose to her feet and walked towards the bathroom connected to her room. There was nothing special about the apartment, she and Han were renting in D.C. It was a plain relatively expensive apartment. It had three rooms each with their own bathrooms and a guest bathroom. Ami's room was the closest to the entrance, where Han's room was on the other side. The bathrooms were spacious and high-end with marble tiles and tubes. The bedroom Ami slept in was relatively big. The furniture was simple white color furniture. A dresser, vanity, with a queen bed, and two bookshelves. Both bookshelves were filled with comic books and books Ami bought from human's bookstores. Humans had fantasizing ideas with books and comics. Though her favorites were the comics filled with superheroes and supervillains. A world filled with good people willing to sacrifice themselves for others. Something Ami herself could never see herself doing.
She took a brisk shower and did her whole morning routine in the bathroom. She walked back into her room and sat in front of her vanity. There were large bags underneath her eyes, her lips had a cut in them and were chapped. Ami sighed and opened her drawer to pull out her makeup and began her fake "get ready with me" youtube videos in her head, as she primed her eyes and went for a forest green eyeshadow look. It made her eyes stand out since they were a warm honey color; the eyeshadow also looked good against her tan skin. Ami had a small heart shaped face with hollow cheeks and an elegant nose that sloped down and created a button nose. Her eyes naturally tilted down to give her sad big puppy eyes which she hated. She flicked her eyeliner up, disobeying her naturally tilt for a cat one. There wasn't much to do with her brows, they were naturally thick and had a square high arch. She put brow glue so the hairs wouldn't move. After doing her face she finished it off with a bold true red lipstick on her pouty shaped lips.
The reflection of the girl in the mirror was beautiful. Long dark chocolate hair with loose ringlet curls that formed at the ends. A plentiful chest with a small waist and legs too thick for the rest of her body. She blamed it on her latin side of her genetics that mixed with her middle eastern one. Yes the girl in the mirror was beautiful, how couldn't she be? Her parents were royalty, the king and queen of the fire kingdom. Weren't all princesses breathtakingly in the stories? But were all princesses as twisted as Ami?
The more she stared at her reflection the more she hated the perfect looking princess starting at her. She was disgrace to her family.

The smell of the sea swept over the rose smelling gardens. Ami ran carelessly through the royal gardens of the castle's behind her. White stone column fences protected her from cliff of the island where the sea violently crashed against the rocks below. She was in the lower part of the garden where it was just a large field with summer smelling grass. There were stairs that led to a courtyard with roses and a small pool of water where the petals fell into. The castle was a soft cream color with an italian renaissance theme to it, with open walkway balconies that led to each room and golden color pillars that were circular arches evenly spaced throughout the back of the castle, the small stone fences that protected Ami from the cliff, ran along the balconies.
"Lucia, create them again!" Ami shouted at her older sister, who had been creating beautiful fire doves that Ami was chasing throughout the gardens. Ami looked at her sister Lucia who was four years old than her; she knew that her 12 year old sister had gotten tired of playing with her.
