Deafening Silence

Kong suppressed his urge to run over to Forth as he saw him walking through the gate.

"Your tie is crooked"

Look this way.

"Tuck your shirt in"

Look this way!!

Kongpob frowned at a boy whose head was inside his mobile.

"Hey! No mobile while walking"

Damn it!! Look my way!!

Just then, Forth looked at him briefly, nodded his head and went ahead.

Huh? That's it?

Why such a cold greeting?

But more than that, why does he care?

Kong tuned out his teacher, as something else caught his attention.

Forth playing football.

Now that he looked at him, Forth does have an athletic body. Lean and strong muscles.

He would have liked to continue watching, if not for the ringing of the bell. Reluctantly, he got up.

So what if he took a little detour to his next class, and passed by the football field. As long as he was not late, it was okay right?

And he had every intention of stopping by and saying hi to Forth. But Forth just went ahead and removed his shirt. Then proceeded to pour water on himself.

Which just temporarily stuck Kong's Voice in his throat.

If not for the fear of getting caught staring, his legs would have jammed on his place too.

But thankfully, he reached his next class, safe and sound.

Kong frowned heavily. Forth was missing again since lunch.

What's with P'Forth and his frequent absence? Can't he just attend classes like a normal student? Kong will just go crazy with his regular absence and presence. Just let him meet Forth next time. He will knock some sense into him.

And to think, he even bought this milk tea for him. Guess he had to drink it himself.

Without any warning, the weather did a U turn and the bright sunny morning, changed into a dark cloudy evening.

Kong hurried back to his dorm. Not wanting to get caught in the rain. With no umbrella and the prospect of continuous rainfall. He was thankful to reach back before it started.

Some time later, it started raining, which turned heavy, by the time Kong freshened up and sat down to do his work.

After few hours, Kong got up and stretched his body. It was still raining. He went to his window to look outside.

And spotted someone sitting outside his dorm building. Who looked suspiciously like Forth.

Without much thinking, Kong ran downstairs. And he was right.

It was P'Forth.

Badly hurt and getting wet in the rain.

"P'Forth!!", Kong called out worryingly.

The said person looked up,

"Kong"

Without wasting much time, Kong hoisted Forth up and brought him to his room.

He made him change his clothes and was now currently treating his bruises.

He wanted to ask many questions, but that had to wait. First he should look at the well being of Forth.

He was disinfecting a cut on Forth's face when he felt his eyes boring on him.

He looked up at Forth.

"Kong"

"Hmmm?"

"The person that I like...is you"

".........."

Kong blanked out. That was unexpected. He didn't knew what to say. So he just continued treating his wounds.

Kong bought their dinner and silently they ate.

He had asked Forth to stay the night. Maybe tomorrow, when he had digested the fact, and can think clearly, he would talk to Forth about it.

But next morning, he woke up, only to find Forth, already out of his room, with just a thank you note left behind.

Kong was amazed at Forth's ability to make himself invisible. Because since that night's incident, forth for just that- invisible to Kong's eyes.

Either he was skipping classes or very good at hiding from Kong. Because it had been days, since he last talked with Forth or saw him.

It was like Forth completely cut off all his relations with Kong.

And what was left from his side, was a deafening silence.
