Season 2 Episode 10:
Jughead's PoV:
The Serpents and I, following my lead, walked into my old school, Riverdale High. I could see the fear etched into the students' eyes, following us to wherever we went. I approached Veronica and Betty, not looking at the girl with the blonde ponytail since she had dumped me for Archie, my best friend. But Archie said no, saying that he couldn't date her because it wouldn't be right to take his best friend's girlfriend. Besides, he's dating Veronica anyway.

But it wasn't my redhead best friend or my pastel-pink ex that caught my eye: it was the beautiful girl sat on a chair by where Veronica was standing at some form of welcome desk. Her hair was plaited, a bored look on her face as she stared down at her phone. Her lips were painted red, reminding me of myself after a hunt, and her tan skin matching her leather jacket perfectly.

"Friends! On behalf of the students, and faculty, here at Riverdale High, welcome to your new school. To ease this transition, they've set up a registration desk where you can get your locker assignments, schedules and a list of sports and extracurriculars." Veronica said peppily. The unknown girl looked up from her phone after glaring at it and furiously typing away. Her eyes were the colour of caramel, surrounded by an army of long, dark eyelashes.

"Blah blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Ronnie, you can be quiet now. They get the gist of it. Can I leave now? I've got a phone call to make." The girl said, standing up.

"Hope, stop complaining. And no, not yet." Veronica told the girl, Hope, before continuing, "We encourage each, and every one of you, to drink, deep, from the cup that is fair Riverdale."

"Stand down, Eva Peron!" A voice that I recognised to be Cheryl's said from the stairs. The football team surrounded her like a wall, Reggie stood next to her and the vixens following her lead.

"I'm out!" Hope said, grabbing her backpack and throwing it over her shoulder before walking away, phone pressed to her ear.

"Toni, you'll be alright, won't you? Can you get my schedule and locker assignment please?" I whispered, receiving a nod from the pink-haired girl and walking after Hope. I found her outside, at the back of the school, shouting into the phone.

"No, Mom! I'm not coming back to New Orleans just because my lousy ass of a Dad decided to come home after 7 years of not giving a crap about me! And for what? To have my life moulded into what you want it to be? No! I have friends here. I have a new life here. And you know what? I'm much happier than I ever was back home." Hope said, bringing the phone from her ear and ending the call. She slid down the wall, hugging her knees to her chest and letting out a sob.

"Are you ok?" I asked, feeling sorry for the girl.

"Who are you?" She asked quickly, looking up at me.

"Sorry if I startled you. I'm Jughead, by the way." I told her, moving to sit next to her.

"I'm Hope Mikaelson. You're one of the new kids, right?" She asked.

"Sort of. I went here last semester but I had to transfer after my Dad got arrested for a murder that he didn't commit after he even though he confessed." I started, moving on to explain how we found out that Cliff Blossom killed Jason, and the fake evidence and just catching her up on all of the drama that she missed.

"Shit...and I thought that my family was messed up." Hope joked...I think.

"Compared to Riverdale? I doubt anything could be messed up." I laughed.

"I like your hat." Hope said randomly.

"Thanks. My little sister got it for me a couple of years ago before she and my Mom moved to Toledo." I told her, recounting my 10th birthday when Jellybean was 4 and she was so proud of herself for getting me a hat. I smiled at the memory.

"I always wanted a sibling. Especially after my family left. When I was 7, my Uncle Kol and Uncle Elijah, my Aunt Rebekah and my Dad left me for no reason. I was so mad." Hope said, wiping away another tear.

"Hey, don't cry. Someone could be falling in love with your smile." I laughed, quoting one of my favourite TV shows, Teen Wolf.

"Hey, quit quoting Teen Wolf!" She laughed.

"You watched Teen Wolf?" I asked in shock. Nobody that I know has even heard of Teen Wolf.

"Yes! Scott is cool as the true alpha and everything, but nothing can beat Stiles' sarcasm. Or Lydia's badass banshee powers." She laughed.

"Oh my God, can I marry you now?" I joked, laughing. Hope burst out laughing, throwing her head back.

"If you want!" She played along.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the marriage of Jughead Stiles Stilinski and Hope Lydia Martin and also the funeral of Jackson Whittemore's brain." I wheezed in a fake, posh British accent, laughing too hard.

"You are literally my favourite person ever!" (AN: I've said this to like 5 people today lol) Hope told me, laughing.

Hope and I continued to talk, not moving when the bell for 1st period sounded, about anything and everything. I told her all about me, save for the Vampire part, and she told me all about her.

"So, why did you come to Riverdale?" I asked her, curious.

"Well, I had a pen pal called Cheryl Blossom and she lives here so I wanted to meet her and when I got here I found out she was a total bitch!" Hope said angrily.

"I hate Cheryl. She made my life here hell." I said, scoffing lightly.

"Glad we agree on that, too." She said, smiling.

"Well I guess that means that this is the part where we awkwardly go inside and everyone is suspicious?" I joked awkwardly.

"I guess it is." She laughed, standing up. I stood up too, grabbing my bag and continuing to joke with Hope.

At this time, we didn't know what this one conversation could possibly lead to. And we didn't know the trouble it would bring.
