*Trigger warning - I guess :/ *

Laurence's POV:

Garroth's face was red and his eyes were beginning to water. He kept his eyes focused on the ground as a last effort to hide his face.

For the first time, I noticed how loose and baggy his shirt and jeans were. I quickly evaluated the situation and came to a terrifying conclusion,

"Garroth," I hesitently asked, "Have you been starving yourself?

He squeezed his eyes shut, forcing two large tears to fall and shook his head violently.

"N-NO! I haven't I-I," He glanced at me nevously, "I'M BROKE!"

I staired at him for a few seconds. I know that that's not the real reason. His dad's ritch and even if he'd stopped giving Garroth an allowance his mother would never let him starve.

I gentely lifted his chin and turned his head to face me, brushing the tear on his cheek away with my thumb.

"It's allright. Whatever the real reason is, I won't get mad or laugh at it. I'm your friend! You can trust me."

He hick-uped and took a deep breath.

"Well, Um...." He looked back up at me and I nodded in encoragment, "Ever since you err.... left.... I've just been kinda... depressed. I've hardly left the house unless it's a special event or that one time Dante needed a door to be kicked open and mostly I've just been too sad to properly care for myself."

This was all my fault? I felt my eyes tear up and I quickly pulled him into a hug. Hugs are the best way to hide your face and I needed to be strong for him.

"You're going to be fine. It's all over now, we can start to get better." I comforted.

He gasped and sighed, "Yeah. Let's."

I half smiled. The only problem with what I said is that it was more aimed at myself then the both of us...
