The Secret (Complete)

Chapter 16

Alex's POV

"Tell us what is going on Alex." Brody says to me in a still cautious voice.

"It is kind of hard to explain without you guys getting upset half way through." I look at them with a worried expression on my face.

"We wont get upset, we promise." Nate says to me in a soft tone. I didn't know where it came from, but it made me oddly calm.

"Yeah, we promise we wont get upset. And we should move into another room before we get into story time." Brody says with a sheepish look.

"Why were you two fighting in the first place?" I ask them.

They look at each other sheepishly and look back at me.

"Brody told me about how you two were going on a date, and my wolf hated the idea of someone else dating you. So, both of our wolves took control and started fighting each other." Nate says to me with a embarrassed look on his face.

"Let's just go to my room so I can tell the story before I lose the motivation to tell you." I say in a bored tone.

They nod their heads and we go up to my room. I sit at the top of my bed and they both sit at the bottom. I then take a seep breath, mentally preparing myself for the story I am about to tell to more people. When I told Kenzie the story, I wasn't scared of her reaction because I knew I could trust her opinion. But with my two mates in front of me, I don't know what to think of them.

"Well, I was originally in Greenstone pack. I was being abused by my drunk, non biological parents. They adopted me when I was a baby, but they hated me. I never knew why, but I was so envious to the other kids at school with their perfect family. When I was twelve, I shifted into my wolf. I was so scared when my wolf took over. 

"When I woke up the next morning, I found my adopted parents dead. It was the most terrifying thing I experienced in my life at the time. The pack saw me as a monster and banished me from their lands forever." I say and look up at my mates to find them looking at me intently, but also with concern.

"How did you survive Alex? You were so young, there is no way you could have survived." Brody sad with concern in his voice.

"I don't know how I survived exactly. Whenever I came across a rogue they would just look at me with pity, or they would growl at me. But they never went after me, they just scared me away. I once saw a rogue kill a pack wolf, it looked at me but left me alone. It was like I had a barrier around me that a rogue respected.

"But anyway, when I was twelve I also got a new voice in my head. She was the most protective person I have ever met, and she was a part of me. She gave me a name that I couldn't pronounce so she told me to call her 'My Secret' or 'M.S.'. She was like an older sibling or even the parent I have never had, but always wanted. The secret took over when you guys were fighting." I said and then looked up at them again.

"That was who was speaking to us?" Brody asked.

"Yes, I tried to separate you guys but you wouldn't listen so she took over. Anyway, when I was six or seven I met this boy and he made so upset that I felt this tingling sensation, almost like electricity. And then my hands created electric bolts and they shot through the roof. Nobody remembered what happened that day, but I knew it happened because there was a small hole in the ceiling.

"I started dating the same boy when I was fifteen. His name was Jake Lee. He was so nice-" I was saying but then heard a growl from both Brody and Nathan. I look up with a glare and say," I thought you guys wouldn't get upset during my story."

"Look we didn't know you would bring up you dating someone else, we were caught off guard." Nathan says in a calm reassuring voice, even though I can hear the underlying anger in it too.

"Well anyway, he was sweet and nice to everyone. So, since he was a wolf too I thought I could trust him with knowing about the secret. I was wrong about him. He looked at me weirdly and I began to get wary of him. One day I invited him and his mom over for dinner, they tried to take the secret away from me that night. I have been running ever since.

"That is how I got into Nate's pack, it was one of my many pit stops before moving on to another place. Actually, the time Ty caught me was when I was going to pack and leave." I say and look up at Nathan with a sad look. He wasn't looking at me though, he was looking at the ground with a look of sadness.

"Brody, can I get a moment alone with Alex?" Nathan ask emotionlessly.

"Yeah, sure. Have a good night Alicia." He says before leaving my room. I look up at Nate and he is finally looking up at me.

I see every emotion in his eyes: grieve, anger, sadness, and more.

"What's wrong Nate?" I ask some what worriedly.

"Did you know my mom's mate was a rogue?" he asks me, but obviously knew I didn't know the answer. I shook my head at him.

"Well, he was. He was a cruel rogue. He abused me, specifically he would whip me with a silver whip. And he would hit me and my mom. He became alpha because my mom was the daughter of the alpha. I hated him for everything he did, so when I was old enough, I killed him. I took the place as alpha, and I swore to hate every rogue until I died." He said to me and looked up again. He had tears streaming down his face. I went closer to him and wiped away the fallen tears.

"It's okay now, he is gone and you're a great alpha." I say reassuringly but he shakes his head.

"I treated you like you were nothing, just like he did with my mom." He says angrily towards himself more than towards me.

"Is she still, alive?" I ask him softly and he nods.

"Yeah, hopefully you will meet her one day." he says to me," have a good night Alex." he says and kisses the top of my head. He then walks out the door and closes it softly.

I then slowly get my pajamas on and get into bed. I was so confused with my life that I didn't know how to comprehend that one of my mates just kissed me on the head.

Wow, my life has turned upside down. One minute I am trying not to get caught by my crazy ex and another I have two mates and parents. 

I then go to sleep with the thoughts of my life. The good ones, not the bad ones.
