Hello! Welcome. I'm back! (Again). I know, its been a while but i feel good after my break. Alot has happened, but i won't get into that. If you are new here, welcome and thank you for checking out my book. This is my first TØP fic so please bear with me, i have been a fan for a while but I am putting my own spin on the 'lore' because I am even still learning it. In case you couldn't tell, this takes place during the Trench timeline, hense the title. I love comments, so please feel free to inform me if I'm wrong somewhere, just please be gentle where it is my first book about them and my first book in a while (I'm a bit rusty)

Josh's POV

"Colin, we have been planning this for months. We can't give up now" I said as I packed a bag and grabbed a few torches. "I have a good feeling about this lead and I don't want it to run cold". "I'm not telling you to give up. I know how much this means to you...and me, but this is risky, like really risky" Colin said, following me as I paced. He stopped me by grabbing my arm. "Josh...". I put my hand on his shoulder " As much as i appreciate you trying to protect me, you are my little brother and last i checked it was my job to do that" I said. Colin sighed. "Fine. But I'm going with you and you can't stop me" he said. "You always were a stubborn pain in my ass" I chuckled and shook my head. "Lets go" I ruffled his hair, he swatted at me. "Not the hair!" He pouted. I laughed and put the bag over my shoulder before ducking out of my tent. Colin grabbed the torches and followed.

1 year ago.

Elise's POV

"Happy birthday!" I cheered after we sang. I grinned and hugged Tyler. "Happy birthday bro, you're getting old" I said and chuckled. He laughed. "Ha ha, yeah" he smiled. I returned the smile and thanked Colin for the food he had passed out and handed to me. I couldn't help but look at him, finding him extremely attractive. 'No Elise, don't' i scolded myself in ny head. 'You've know him since you were little, you can't ruin the friendship do to stupid hormones!' I was snapped out of my argument with myself by Tyler pinching me. "Ow! What was that for?!" I looked at him. "You're drooling" Tyler said knowingly. I scoffed and tried to play it off. "Pft Am not. I don't even know what you're talking about" I rolled my eyes. I looked at my food. "Mhm sure" Tyler chuckled. Suddenly the fire we were all sitting around went out. I frowned and looked around and saw a flash of red. My eyes widened. "Shit" i whispered. "Niners!" I got up and grabbed a torch, i quickly lit it and spun around. I came face to face with a white horse and froze. I closed my eyes and stayed still. The last thing i remember was hearing Josh and Colin's screams before i felt cold and alone.

Colin's POV

I was enjoying the little celebration we were having, eating food, spening time with my friends and family and, looking at her. Who is her you ask? Elise Joseph, the fiery redhead that barely speaks and has the color changing eyes. Beautiful. I was snapped out of my daydream by the noise of screams and when I came to she was being carried away by one of the niners. "No." I quickly got up, grabbed a weapon and ran after them. "Elise!" I yelled. I tried to catch up,but instead stopped and threw a rock at the horse. The horse reared up and stopped before it turned. It came at me and stopped right in front of me. I felt touch then. Blackness. The next thing i knew i woke up to my brother shaking me. I looked around. "Please tell me it was a dream..." I said looking scared and worried. Josh shook his head sadly. I clenched my fist and looked towards the horizon.

Present Day

Josh's POV

"Everyone who is going, gear up and meet me at the perimeter in 10 minutes!" I yelled so that everyone would hear me. I looked at my brother. "Are you ready?" I asked. He nodded. "Yeah, just nervous..." He admitted. "Why? You're never nervous" I said furrowing my brow. "I'm afraid that they may....not be there" he said, clearly hinting that he thought the worse. "They are both strong, they are fine....i known it" i said and gave him a reassuring smile. "You will see your girl". Colin smiled a bit and looked up at me. "You're right" he said. He looked over as the rest of the banditos came over. I nodded. "Lets go save our brother and sister...and kick some Niner add, shall we?" I said. The group cheered and held up there torches. "That's what i want to hear! Lets go bring death to dema!" I held ny torch high before marching off in the direction of Dema.

Authors note:
I know there is alot of POV's in this chapter but I kinda wanted to get everyone established. In the next chapters there won't be so many.
