You're paired up with MJ, who is supposed to be doing sit-ups for PE, but she's lifting her book up and down as she reads.
"Come on,were supposed to be doing sit-ups."
"Nah, I don't do that...stuff."
"Fine. Then move over so I can."
She turns sideways so you can join her on the mat. You begin doing sit-ups while pretending to struggle a little bit, as you don't want to seem like you have DNA from the Captain America."Peter knows Spider-Man!" Ned yells out of nowhere, making everyone in the room stop. It seemed as if it was directed at a conversation between some of the "popular kids."
"Uh, no I don't! I...I mean-" As Peter speaks, you get confused. Your mind goes back to the day at the airport for some unknown reason.
"They're friends," Ned continues. You attempt to return to your workout, but the loud conversation won't let you.
"Yeah like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends," the rude kid named "Flash" teases Peter. You've heard him get scolded by teachers in class multiple times.
"I've met him, yeah, a couple times. But it's...through the Stark internship."
Stark internship? You originally thought Peter was actually cool, but he's kinda full of lies. There's no way this child knows Tony.
"Yeah, well I'm not really supposed to talk about it."
"Well that's awesome. Hey, you know what? Maybe you should invite him to Liz's party. Right?" Flash continues teasing Peter, which he might deserve for being such a liar."Oh yeah, I was gonna ask you about that." MJ speaks next to you. You turn back to her, almost forgetting that she was there. "I was gonna go to that lame party. And it might be better with one not-so-lame person, so you wanna come?"
"Sure." You blush slightly, knowing that MJ doesn't usually think of people as highly as "not-so-lame."
"''Kay." MJ starts reading her book again, and you do your sit-ups until the bell rings minutes later.Back at the Avengers compound, you find Tony in his basement.
"Hey, Tony. Do you know a kid, Peter? He goes to Midtown, and he says he's doing a 'Stark internship'." You include dramatic finger quotes.
"Ah, Yeah. You know...sorta. Hey, I was thinking. We should get you a suit. You know, just in case."
You realize that he's changing the subject, but you don't really care. Because having a suit would be really cool.[time skip to Liz's party]
You and MJ are hanging out by the snacks, which are really good, when you notice Peter and Ned walking in.
"I can't believe you guys are at this lame party." MJ speaks, causing Peter to look over at the two of you. Peter is staring strangely at you, like he's trying to figure out a difficult puzzle.
"But, you guys are here too." Ned observes.
"Are we?" MJ walks away, leaving you with Ned and Peter.
"Yeah...so...bye." You walk away to find MJ, as you hardly know neither Peter or Ned, and Peter staring at you is making you a bit uncomfortable."Penis Parker, what's up?" Flash speaks through a microphone to Peter. He may be a strange kid, but you can't help but get defensive for Peter. You feel the same thing you felt when Robert was bullied back in the forties; you feel like it's your job to protect helpless, scrawny children.
"So where's your pal Spider-Man?" Flash speaks again over the speaker. "Let me guess, in Canada with your imaginary girlfriend?"When Flash is done being a jerk, Peter walks somewhere unknown to you, and you feel like you should see if he's okay. Almost every time you freed Robert from bullies, he had a kind of a mental breakdown afterward. You're not sure if Peter is the same way, but you decide to leave him alone.
