beginning of September, 2016; Friday
"I'll see you Monday," You call to MJ as she's leaving the school.
"Yeah."
"Bye, Ned."
"Bye, (Y/N). Have a good weekend."
"Yeah, you too."
You begin walking on the sidewalk towards the bus station. You're walking to the beat of a Twenty One Pilots song when you feel yourself being launched off the sidewalk. Before you realize what's happening, you're sitting, dazed on top of a building with none other than Spider-Man. Your first reaction is to swing your leg to his chest, causing him to stumble backwards. He shoots his webs at your feet, sticking you to the ground.
"What...what are you doing, Spiderling?" You realize calling him that will definitely, hopefully annoy him. But without speaking, he leaps to the next building over and disappears. Confused and frustrated, you tear the webs from your feet and walk home.Back at the compound, questions swarm your mind. Who is that guy? Why did he pull me off the street? Why didn't he even talk? What the heck is going on? Confused, you trudge up to your room without hardly speaking a word to Rhodey or Vision. You plop on the twin bed and slip your shoes and socks onto the floor. Laying your head on the pillow, you turn on the tv and start your favorite episode of Seinfeld as you doze to sleep.
[time skip to Monday]
"See you at lunch." MJ waves as she moves toward her algebra class as you walk towards physics.
Then, for the second time this week, you're suddenly jerked from your path, into the Spanish classroom.
"Peter, what the heck is going on?"
"Uh..." He looks out the windows and twists his hands around each other. "I...uh...I know...um...your secret."
"You're right...I keep snacks in my book bag. Just, don't tell anyone? Please?"
"What? No, I know that you're Captain America's daughter."
"What?! Who told you that? That's crazy!!"
"I just-" As Peter begins to ramble on, everything suddenly clicks.
"Wait, wait...you're Spiderling?!"
"Wha...what...no!"
"Yes, you are. Peter, I'm not stupid. Last Friday, you pulled me aside on the sidewalk to test your theory that Steve's my dad. You're right, but now I know your secret." You speak with a huge smirk as Peter's plan deeply failed. As he's slightly panicking inside, it makes you want to reassure him. "Don't worry, I won't tell if you don't."In physics class, you and Peter find seats next to each other. With the new top-secret information between the two of you, there's also a new-found companionship.
"So, what's it like? You know, being the daughter of Captain America?" Peter whispers the last part as to not reveal your identity.
"It's not a huge deal. I haven't seen him since he dropped me off at the compound."
"You live at the Avengers compound? That's awesome!"
"Yeah. It was either that or being a fugitive with Steve."
"Wait, who's your mom?"
"Peggy Carter. They got secretly married right before he went into the ice." You've never told anyone that they were secretly married, but you figure that Peter can keep a secret, even though it doesn't matter much now anyways.
"So, who all knows?" You turn the whispered conversation to Peter.
"Mr. Stark, Happy, and Ned. That's pretty much it. If you were born-"
"In 1945."
"-then, how are you not, like, sixty?"
"Um, in 1959, my mom got really sick. They thought she was going to die, so she put me in cryofreeze. Fifty-six years later, Bucky finds me, takes me to Romania, and Steve finds us a year later...and you didn't ask for my life story. Sorry."
"Wow. No, it's...it's fine."You realize that Mrs. Warren is giving the homework, but only after you and Peter have quietly discussed almost everything related to your secret lives.
"So, you probably heard that I'm not Spider-Man anymore." Peter speaks as you walk towards the cafeteria.
"What? No! What happened?"
"I messed up. Mr. Stark took the suit."
"Peter, the suit isn't Spider-Man. You are."
"Yeah, sure." He doesn't sound very convinced.
"Peter...shut up."
"What?"
"Steve Rogers is on the run. He's not here. But I'm still his daughter."
"That's different. You're (Y/N) Rogers. It's literally in your blood."
"Maybe, but it's the same concept. Your suit is gone, but Spider-Man is literally in your blood."
"I thought I was 'Spiderling,'" He smirks.
"Well, now I know who's under the mask. And he's not bad...but when you're fighting, you do talk way too much."
