When he entered the room all conversations ceased and everyone was looking at him. Harry stood there awkwardly for a moment before ducking his head and making his way towards the bar. Tom who had sensed the mood, smiled and broke the silence.

"What can I get you?"

"I'd like a room please"

Harry was sitting on the bed as he thought over the situation. His friends and Dumbledore had been lying to him, what if they weren't the only ones, who were his real friends?. Also it seemed he had come into an unexpected creature inheritance. Great.

He was brought out of his thoughts by a tapping at the window, he quickly stood and opened it. The owl fluttered onto the table and offered the letter that was in its possession to him. Harry anxiously grabbed the letter and took a better look at the bird. It was a dark grey barking owl with glowing golden eyes that somehow held an air of elegance. He stared a moment before realising where he had seen it. This was Draco's owl. Realising the owl had probably flown far he set a small snack down on the table for it.

Turning back to the letter he quickly opened it and scanned through the content.

Dear Harry,
Happy Birthday! I hope your holidays have been enjoyable, although I can't see how they can be in the presence of those disgusting muggles you live with. However, if you ever do need somewhere to stay you are always welcome at Malfoy Manour. If so just owl me and we can make arrangements. On another matter have you read the Daily Prophet yet? If not I am pleased to tell you that I am the new Lord Malfoy due to my father being in Azkaban. Please give any reply to my owl Vasilica.

sincerely

Lord Draconis Lucius Malfoy

Harry stood there for a moment, letting the information soak into his brain. He came to the conclusion that going to the Malfoy Manour would be the best thing to do and decided to write a quick response back. He handed the rushed note to the no longer exhausted owl, it flew from its place on the table and out of the window before he could blink.

"Damn, that was fast!" He said in awe.
