Hey guys, so exciting news: someone offered to publish my story!
When I first read this this morning, I was so happy and excited. I saw tons of money fly before my eyes. Then I did a little research on the company. I spent a year writing this book. I'm not gonna give it up at the first chance I get. Turns out it is legit, just has a few iffy spots. I got a chance to read a bit of the contract they offer (one of their conditions is that I take this book off all websites), and see what kind of prices they offer. Lemme be the first to tell you; they don't make money fly. They offered this guy $60, for a book he probably spent 200+ hours writing.
So combine the insulting price they'll probably offer me, and the few iffy spots they have, and the fact that they'll make me take my book off here and you get a no.
While my book is far from being the best, it's worth more than $60. Also, as a broke reader, I have a slight (very slight!) distain to authors who make me buy their book. I don't know, I'm selfish and self involved; I think all the books I want to read should be free. For that reason and a few others (like the fact that it's falling apart in a couple places), this book isn't going anywhere, (probably) ever. So keep enjoying, sharing and just doing you!
Siempre, Liv
