Finn locks his truck and we follow Jace through the thick trees, bushes and weeds on a small makeshift trail. Finally there's a clearing. It's small, couldn't hold more than twenty people, but so beautiful. It overtakes the shining green water of the lake.
The people who rode with King, Isabelle, Whitney, Felix and Alex, are already unpacked. King and the twins work on setting up a tent as Jace and McCay sit on the logs around the makeshift fire. Finn dumps our packs on the ground, and I gently set my little pack next to them.
He then grabs my waist and pulls me close to him. Because of our height difference, Finn has to lean down to touch his forehead to mine.
"Hey," He starts, voice soft and husky.
I swallow, wanting so badly to just get on my tiptoes and kiss him. The only reason I hold myself back is the reminder that we're with people. So I settle on whispering back, "Hi..."
"I'll set up our tent, if you go make me a snack." He says, looking at me intently.
"I thought...I was gonna share a tent with the girls..."
Finn groans at the idea, and tightens his grasp on my waist. He lips find my neck as he mumbles, "You could...but, think about how much more fun it would be to share one with me."
I circle my arms around his neck, drawing myself onto my tiptoes in order to be as close to Finn as possible. "You're not playing fair."
He nips my throat gently as his hands grasp my ass. "Really?"
"Yeah."
"I'll stop if you tell me to."
That's the problem. I don't want him to stop. I want him to go as far as he wants because I want that too. So I tell him that, in my mind at least. Out loud I utter, "I'll share a tent with you."
Finn pulls his head out of my neck and pecks my lips. "And make me a snack?"
A smile crosses my lips as I untangle myself from him, "Sure."
"You're the best."
"I know."
Before I can make Finn his snack, I first have to set up the food table. When I finish doing that, I get tricked into making everyone else food which I don't really mind doing. What bugs me is that while I'm struggling to make a fire out of wimpy, mostly moist sticks, Jace, McCay and Isabell sit on their dainty little butts chatting away. At one point I ask Jace to grab me the hot dog buns, to which he replies, "Yeah, in a minute." I never get the buns.
Instead of making an ocean out of a pond, I get the buns myself and finish the cooking.
I take Finn and my food to our tent and we eat in there before taking a nap, that could've easily turned into a good nights rest, together. The reason we wake before dawn is Jace. He's insistent that we all eat s'mores together, camping tradition. So Finn and I get up and do our best to fix our rumbled clothes.
"You look hot," Finn whispers, wrapping his arms around me from the back.
I lean my head back and gaze up at him. "My hair is flat and I'm pretty sure I have morning breath...."
He smirks and pecks my lips quickly, saying, "Sexy."
I giggle lightly and pull his arm, leading us out of our world and into the chaos of our friends. Music is blasting and it looks like a scene straight out of Hollywood. I hate cliches, but I love this. Love being apart of a group and with people that I know, in the end, will have my back. We take the only log left around the campfire. Finn gets up to make me a s'mores. I don't think much of it, until all the girls takeover his spot.
