Our song

Castiel sat in the Impala, head resting on Dean's shoulder. Dean had insisted they go on another drive, like they had several weeks before. It was amazing how that had been over a month ago.

"You know, we've know each other over a month," Castiwl said, watching the red and orange leaves falling off the trees and onto the streets.

"It seems like we've known each other longer than that," Dean responded, moving to grip Castiel's hand. The windows were rolled down slightly, so the wind rustled Dean's hair perfectly, and Castiel couldn't look away.

"You're beautiful," Castiel whispered, looking up at his boyfriend. Dean smiled.

"You're quite beautiful also," he said, moving to run his fingers through Castiel's hair.

"Where are we going?" Cas asked, turning back to the road. Dean slipped his arm across the back of the seat, around Castiel's shoulders.

"Nowhere. Just driving," Dean said. The sight was beautiful. The trees hung over the road, casting their leaves onto the road. The sunlight made the colors shine brighter.

"I didn't know Kansas could be so beautiful," Castiel said, wishing he could stay in this moment forever.

"Just wait for winter. The snow is amazing," Dean said. (A/N I don't live in Kansas, so I don't know if they get snow. Just pretend.)

They continued to drive, the only sounds being the rustle of the leaves and the radio playing softly.

Well I set out on a narrow way, many years ago. Hoping I would find true love, along the broken road.

The song played softly, and Castiel smiled.

Well I got lost a time or 2, wipe my brow, kept pushing through. I couldn't see how every sign, pointed straight to you.

Dean sighed happily, and joined in for the chorus.

Every long lost dream, led me to where you are. Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars. Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms. This much I know is true, that God Blessed the Broken Road, that led me straight to you.

Castiel realized that Dean was singing to him, which only made his smile grow. Dean's voice was deep and smooth, and Cas loved it.

I think about the years I've spent, just passing through. I'd like to have the time I've lost, and give it back to you. But you just smile, and take my hand. You've been there, you understand. It's all part of a grander plan, that is coming true.

This time Castiel joined in, so it was just him and Dean, singing along with the radio.

Every long lost dream, led me to where you are. Other who broke my heart, they were like northern stars, Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms. This much I know is true, that God Blessed the Broken Road, that led me straight to you.

And now I'm just rolling home, into my lover's arms. This much I know is true, that God Blessed the Broken Road, that led me straight to you.

That God Blessed the Broken Road, that led me straight to you.

The song ended beautifully, and Castiel didn't know that they were back in town by now.

"I've always wanted to have a special song with someone," Dean whispered. Castiel nodded.

"So that's our song?"

"It's our song," Dean confirmed, pressing a kiss to the top of Castiel's head.
