Show Me The Future, Or The Past

Chapter 11

Naruto and Sasuke dodged an incoming fire ball with ease. Then they responded with their own attacks. The Madara clone simple waved his giant fan like weapon and the attacks were forced off target. They flew past the mindless foe into the surrounding trees. Normal attacks would do nothing to both sides, so they would have to step things up. 

"Naruto," Sasuke said. "This thing isn't as deadly as Madara. It can't think like him."

"That also means he's unpredictable." Naruto explained. "We can't take any chances."

Releasing one of his clones, Naruto infused his Nine Tail's chakra and nature chakra. He formed extra arms and began forming a rasenshuriken. The Madara clone darted at the Jinchuriki, but was stopped by Sasuke. They exchanged blows until Sasuke used his own rinnegan to switch out with a log. The clone then looked toward's Naruto who had launched his attack. The coming wind jutsu was then reinforced by Sasuke's black flames.

The attack hit it's target and a huge explosion followed. Both ninja waited to see if their attacks had finished the clone. If it had been the real Madara they had heard in stories then that wouldn't have been enough to kill him, but this wasn't the real Madara who had died years ago. To their disappointment the smoke cleared to show a blue, fully formed Susanoo with Madara safely inside. It's sword came slashing down sending a a burst of blue energy at it's foes. They moved out of the way as it blew past them and went on for miles.

Naruto suddenly felt his sage mode chakra increase as his second clone vanished. He looked at the path of destruction and saw it went all the way to the spot Slay and his brother had been left at. Was it aiming for his clone that whole time? Did it wan't to make sure his sage mode was limited? Maybe it wasn't just some puppet.

"Be careful Sasuke," Naruto said as they landed. "It might actually have some intelligence. I think it was aiming for my spare clone."

"Makes sense," Sasuke said. "Usual Slay's brother control his little dolls, but he's fighting Slay."

"Then things just got a lot hard."Naruto said.

The puppet smiled at them confirming their fears. It had some mind after all. Which means everything it had been doing was planned. The damn thing was toying with them. If this had all been part of some kind of plan then they need to end this quickly. A prolonged fight wouldn't be in their favor. 

Madara's Susanoo went for another strike missing once again. Hitting them would be hard as the Susanoo was slow, but powerful. If they did nothing it would surely outlast them. Naruto glanced at Sasuke who nodded already knowing what to do. Sasuke unleashed his own Susanoo and engaged Madara forcing the fake back. Naruto then followed behind allowing Kurama to take form around him. Once an opening was clear Sasuke retreated and Naruto launched a tailed beast bomb at Madara.

With one clean slice of the sword the attack was cut in half leaving Madara's Susanoo unharmed. Naruto cursed as this puppet was proving to be more troublesome every minute they wasted fighting him. It might not be the real thing like it's original, but it was a worthy fake. Naruto was pulled out of thought as he jumped back to avoid the Susanoo's blade. Once again Naruto could tell this puppet was toying with them. It's Susanoo carried four sword, but it had only used one. Though it's overconfidence could work to their advantage. A plan formed in Naruto's head and he retreated to tell Sasuke.

As if to further Naruto's beliefs the puppet didn't follow. It simply waited for their next attempt. It's confidence in it's abilities to kill the two ninja was almost a large as the power it had. The doll didn't have to wait long as the duo came back for another round. Sasuke hung behind Naruto who went right for the kill. He swung his claws at Madara only to be blocked. Kurama and Naruto kept their hands locked on Madara's sword and lowered their head. Sasuke swung his own Susanoo's sword at the unsuspecting Madara. With it's other swords unready and his current one restrained by Naruto it had no way to protect itself. Only by some miracle the clone was able to avoid deadly attack.

Enraged by almost being defeat the puppet called on his other swords. Sasuke had pulled back after his attack and Naruto was defenseless. The three free blades came down on Naruto as his back lay bare to his foe. Suddenly Naruto's nine tails covered him like a shield. The puppet glared at the failed attack and then noticed something strange. Something had begun to encase the Nine tails. At that moment the clone realized his fatal mistake and tried to recall his blades.

Seeing his chance Naruto freed one of his hand and a purple Katana appeared in it. He swung up letting Madara go and allow his sword to cut threw it's target. It entered from the blue Susanoo's pelvis all the way up threw the shoulder. With no where to run Naruto brought his sword back and aimed for the defenseless Madara in the head of the Susanoo. With one savage strike he ended the fake Madara. It looked at them for a moment while dying with fear in it's eyes. The doll it's self might not be real, but it's fear sure was. Naruto didn't know if it was them it feared, or death, but it didn't matter now. The fight was over and the puppet disappeared. 

Kurama stood tall now completely encased by Sasuke's Susanoo like armor. During the fight while Madara attacked Naruto, Sasuke had begun to combine his Susanoo with Naruto's Nine tails. By the time the puppet figured out what had happened Naruto was already able to attack with the Susanoo's sword. The real Madara had done this with his own Susanoo back when he controlled Kurama in his final battle with the First Hokage that's where Naruto got the idea.

"Piece of cake." Sasuke said.

"Wonder how it would have gone if it had been the real Madara." Naruto commented. "Doesn't matter now I guess. Come on, let's go give Slay a hand."

"If he hasn't captured his brother already." Sasuke added.

"If he had then that puppet would have disappeared sooner." Naruto explained. "Let's go!"

They released their transformation and moved towards Slay's position. Slay's brother was weak, but just as Slay had said that doesn't mean it will be an easy win. Their best chance at victory would be together. Naruto just hoped everything would go as planned, but he knew it never did. Slayouyo probably had something else up his sleeves. Even if he didn't it was best to expect as much. Naruto just hoped he was wrong.
