"August please stop. The babies are crying." Karin sobbed as he pulled her back in the room and shut the broken door. He continued to put his hands on her.

She somehow was able to get him to stop, leaving her

The babies got louder and louder making August finally stop.

"Don't leave this fucking room, or I swea' to god you won't live to see tomorrow." He said while deeply breathing in and out.

Karin got up and slowly and walked to the bathroom

She winced in pain as she tried to clean off her swollen lip.

She never thought the man she loved the most would ever put his hands on her.

He was currently in the room feeding the babies. Of course she wanted to go in there and take care of it herself but he wouldn't let her leave the room. He was scared she would take the babies and leave.... like she said she would. He had her phone so she couldn't call anybody. She was stuck.

She lifted up her shirt and gasped at all of the bruises forming on her abdomen. Those where most of his hits went. He did get her one time in her face, resulting in her busted lip.

She stripped out of her clothes and turned the shower on and got in

Dear God, why me? Why do I always pick the fucked up ones? What did I do to deserve this? I'll do anything and I mean anything for you to get me and my baby boys out of this situation. Its so hard for me. Please. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

She soon felt a pair of arms wrapped around her.

"You know I love you right? I didn't mean it." August said.

"A-August, I can't do this anymore.. I don't think we should be together anymore." She said while wiping the water and tears off her face.

"What? You trying to leave me?" He said while turning her around so they could look at each other.
"I-I didn't mean it Karin, something came over me. I need you, please."

"So, what's going to happen the next time something comes over you. I know I said what I said, but you don't get to put your hands on me." She said while stepping out of the shower, leaving him in there by himself.

She wrapped herself in a towel and walked into the room. She looked around at the items that were on the dresser, now scattered all over the floor. The maternity picture that was above their head board was now shattered. It was literally a crime scene in there. She sat on the bed and thought of ways to leave, and now that she thought about it... she couldn't. She was living under August's expense now being that she paid for her last year of schooling tuition and for 12 months of rent, electric and water since the old landlord didn't want to let her out of her lease.

She was broke. She was out of work for 9 months and promotions only get you so far.

She built a name for herself and it fell to the ground now after her depending on a man who she thought loved her.

She slipped on something loose fitting and snuck into the guest room. If she was goingl to stay in that house, she had to make sure she wasn't around August. She couldn't even stomach the thought of him. He told her he would never hurt her, and he hurt her the worst.

3 days later, Karin awoke to the sound of the doorbell ringing. She groaned because she was up all night nursing the babies. She didn't understand what was wrong with August but for the past several days he sat in the room with the door closed facing the window. He haven't acknowledged Karin or his sons at all since the night of the altercation.
