I walked into the house with the car seats in hand. It was their feeding time so I wasted no time getting up stairs.

I noticed August was finally out the room, as much as I wanted him out the room- for him to spend quality time with his children, I now wished he was back cooped up in there.

On the way home I did a lot of thinking. He didn't deserve the first bit of happiness, all we did while I was pregnant was argue and now that they're here I'm not trying to let that become something ordinary for them.

I don't ever want them to think the reason why me and August argue like we do because of them. The reason why we argue is because of me and him and that's it.
I'm tired of fixing, fixing, fixing. We fix it and three days later we are back to square one, it's tiring and I'm over it.

I was currently trying to breastfeed the babies when August walked in the guest room.

"Can we talk?" He said as he sat on the ottoman by the bed.

"Yeah." I said dryly.

This wasn't going to be one of those "it's okay, let's kiss and make up" ordeals. I was really trying to make the best decision not for me but for my baby boys.

"Look, I wanna start by saying I'm sorry. I really wish shit didn't play out how it did, but it did and I can't to nothing to change that." He started.
"I'm in a low ass place right now and I don't know where that man from the other night came from. I'll do anything right now for you to forgive me Karin, and I put that on everything I love."

I wanted to make up with him badly, but the safety of my children comes first. I would never want to be in the position where they see their daddy beating in their mom.

"August, I want to forgive you so bad. I just- I can't. Every time I look at you all I can remember is me screaming asking you to stop. I was pleading you August! I was begging you, and everyday I'm even more grateful for Antwan and Ky because if it wasn't for them who know what else you would have done." I said. I wasn't trying to make him feel bad but that's how I felt.
"Your not the August from when we first started out. Your... different." I sighed.

He kind sat there quiet.

"Look I think it's best if we go on a break. I don't plan on it being permanent, but whatever happens, happens. I'm gonna go stay at my old place, I still have about 3 months left on my lease so that should be okay for now. You can come get the babies any time you want okay, don't let us not bring together in the moment stop you from seeing them. They need a father."

"You expect me to be okay with that Karin? I'm trying to fight for this and you're giving up?" He said while raising an eyebrow.

"August, don't do that. I have consistently been the one too be the bigger person in this relationship, argument after argument. You have no choice but to be okay with it. At this point in time you're single and I'm single, which means you have no say in what I do. If you want me back you'll prove it to me."

With that August got up and stormed out of the room. He couldn't stomach the thought of Karin actually being single, he seen a future with her so he definitely was gonna do what it takes to get her back. He just hoped nobody stole her heart before he was able to win it back.

Karin sighed as she finished up her feeding. She needed to pack up her clothes so hopefully August would comply with watching them for the time being.

"You'll get them for a lil bit?" She asked while walking to his man cave. She made sure to keep her distance due to the fact he smokes in there.

"Yeah I can, gimme like 10 minutes and I'll get them." She nodded at him and sat in the living room with them.
