(Song for the chapter is Where You Belong by Kari Kimmel.)
Why me? Why did Niall Horan from One Direction want anything to do with me, Blair Fallon from an abused home?
"I also believe in love at first sight." He'd said.
Did that mean Niall...loved me?
No. He couldn't. He barely knew me. I barely knew him. But I still went to bed in his arms while wearing his t shirt.
And he still sang me to sleep with a song ironically called Diana.
Diana, let me be the one to, light a fire inside those eyes. You can own it, you don't even know me, but I can feel you crying. Diana, let me be the one to, lift your heart up and save your life. I don't think you even realize. Baby you'd be saving mine.
The song was now stuck in my head. Niall woke me up the next morning singing a different song though, and that one was just as good.
I'm sorry if I say I need ya. But I don't care I'm not scared of love. Cause when I'm not with you I'm weaker. Is that so wrong? Is it so wrong? That you make me strong.
But Diana helped me sleep. And that was something that hadn't happened to me in a long time.
Right now I was sitting in the bed at the Twist home, watching one of the movies Gemma had left me. I think it was called Sex in the City. I wasn't paying it any attention though, I was too busy trying to figure out why Niall wanted anything to do with me.
"Blair?" Anne asked, knocking on the door. I paused the movie. Or tried. Gemma had tried to show me how to use this thing, but I was shit at it. Groaning, I turned the whole thing off and put down the remote.
"Yes?" I called.
"May I come in?"
"Sure."
The door opened and she stepped inside. "How was last night? Did you have a good time?" she asked.
No.
"Yes." I said.
"How'd you sleep at Harry's?" she asked.
Terrible until Niall came and got me.
"Fine." I said.
"That's good. I have something for you." she said, handing me a box.
I took it and opened it carefully. Inside was what looked like a phone, complete with a touch screen and two cameras.
"Gemma picked it out. She thought since you'd never had a phone before, you deserved the newest, bestest one out there. So, Robin and I got you an iPhone 5c. What do you think?" she asked.
"I-I don't know what to say. Thank you, for getting it for me." I said, looking up at her.
She smiled a sweet smile. A lot of people had been nice to me since I arrived in London. After five years, it was almost too much.
It was too much.
I thrust the box and the phone back into Anne's hands. "I'm sorry, I can't accept this. Thank you, but this is all too much. I can't." I said.
Anne looked troubled. "Blair honey, I understand that expensive gifts are new to you, but-"
"No, Mrs. Twist, any gifts are new to me. No one has given me anything since my cousin Jace died five years ago." I said.
Anne's jaw dropped, and she stared at me me a long moment.
"I really do appreciate it, but this is all too much. Harry doing what he did last night, Gemma and everything she does, the sacrifice you and your husband are making to have me here, and Niall being so sweet, I just can't accept this. I don't know how to thank you enough as it is, I don't want another thing I can't thank you for." I explained.
"Blair, you are unlike any teenage girl I've ever met. You are so welcome for anything and everything we've done and will do. But I want you to have this. It would mean a lot to me. Please, take it. And everything else we give you." She said.
She gave me back the box. "Take it, Blair. Please." she said.
I took it carefully and looked back up at her to see her standing. "Where are you going?" I blurted.
"I-I just need a moment sweetheart. Gemma is in the back yard, I'm sure she will help you learn how to use the phone if you ask her." She said.
I nodded, feeling bad that Anne now had tears in her eyes. What did I say?
Without another word, Anne leaned in and kissed my cheek. Then she left the room.
