A/N: The OCs Haruki Murakami and Banana Yoshimoto who appear in this fic are based off real Japanese authors but still belong to me. The "main OC" Hikari belongs to me only.

The characters from Bungou Stray Dogs belong to the respectable Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa, the plot and my OCs belong to me.

Enjoy!

During the day she was a normal little girl, dearly cherished by everyone in the orphanage. But as soon as night arrived and her eyes fluttered closed while lying peacefully in bed, the dangerous power which slumbered inside her fragile body would awake and tear everything apart that was dear to her: The Monster Under The Bed.

Part 1

"Kunikida-kun! Kunikida-kun!" A voice penetrated Kunikida's sensitive ears. Clearly annoyed, the blonde continued typing furiously on his keyboard. He wanted to finish the report concerning the last mission as soon as possible. However, a certain detective kept hindering his work.

"Kunikida-kun, would you mind looking up for a second? It's important, really!"

"Dazai," Kunikida growls lowly, still not sparing his fellow partner a single glance while fiercely typing, "I don't have time for any of your daily crap. I have work to do and I won't let you disrupt my schedule again."

"But Kunikida-kuuuuuun~" Dazai purrs approaching his partner from the side and looking at him with puppy eyes. "It's just a little thing, really! Nothing endangering that precious schedule of yours!"

With his patience coming to an end, Kunikida finally decided to look up at Dazai, staring at him with calculating eyes. Dazai's puppy eyes really were the worst. He couldn't help but sigh at his partner's stubbornness.

"What is it, goddammit?"

As soon as he spoke those words, Dazai's eyes began shimmering and Kunikida realized he made a big mistake. But it was already too late since the brunette detective already shoved a book with a familiar red cover right in his face. The Complete Suicide Manual.

Dazai's voice sounded way brighter than it should have.

"I knew this book would be a great investment! Did you know that there were so many ways as to how to end your own life? I think I'm gonna try out the one where you simply have to—"

"Shut up, you bandage-wasting device!"

Dazai was rudely interrupted when Kunikida roughly ripped the book from his hands before having a look at the cover himself. His brows creased while inspecting it.

"Didn't you buy this book just a while ago?"

"Exactly!"

As he was staring into Dazai's bright mahogany eyes, he couldn't suppress another sigh.

"You're still new in this business, after all you passed your Entrance Exam just a few months ago. You should give your antics a rest and start working—"

Now it was Kunikida who was interrupted by Dazai.

"But the last missions were so boring and exhausting!"

"That's no reason to slack off! Goddamn, there was not a single time when you didn't slack off!"

At that, the brunette started giggling like a little child which made Kunikida even more furious.
