Chapter 8: Truth Hurts
LARA's POV
"I have to! I just have to! The reason why I left, why I hurt you, why I came back.. is... because.." he paused for a moment at hinawakan ang kamay ko. This time, I didn't bother to pull it back dahil sa totoo lang, I so much longed for his touch.
"Look Eunice, This might not be a good timing to tell you but.."
"No, It'll be okay.. Just tell me the reasons why.." sabi ko sa kanya.
There was a long minute of silence. He looked into my eyes like he can see all those spark. He gave me a weak smile and took a deep breath.

What? Tama ba ang narinig ko? Ano daw? I feel like I'm inside of an iceberg, unable to move, unable to utter a word and unable to think.
"You're my half sister.."
"You're my half sister.."
"You're my half sister.."
"You're my half sister.."
"You're my half sister and I want to be with you, to protect you like brothers do.."
Stop! Stop! It hurts already! I expected for a worst reason but this is beyond my expectations! This is far more than worst!
"That's not true.." mahina kong sabi like my energy are all drained and I cannot move a muscle.
"Yes it's true.. Dad had an affair before sila ikasal ng mommy mo. Hindi niya alam na nabuntis niya si mama until the day when he investigated about our relationship.."
"Investigated?" tanong ko sa kanya na parang may namumuong luha sa mga mata ko.
"Oo, he wanted to know all about me dahil girlfriend kita noon only to find out na anak niya pala ako. I'm sorry kung bigla akong nawala.. Pinaprocess na kasi ang visa ko.."
I looked away to stop my tears from falling.
"I wanted to tell you pero nang bumalik ako sa Academy to see you for the last time, wala ka na dahil that day was your flight to Palawan para sunduin ang pinsan mo.."

As the airplane struggled for the take off, my heart also struggled for the pain.
Hindi ko alam kung bakit iniwan ako ni Ian. I tried to be the perfect girl for him pero bakit niya ako sinaktan? I have no idea that he was leaving for US kung hindi sinabi ng mga kaibigan niya. Why did he left?
Tulo ng tulo ang luha ko. My hanky is wet and I know my eyes is red kapag tinanggal ko ang shades kong 'to.
"Miss, are you okay?" tanong ng katabi ko.
"Yes, I'm fine.." sagot ko without even looking at my seatmate. Hindi kasi ako interesadong makipag-usap.
I saw my cousin Dana waving sa labas ng airport at kumaway naman ako balik.
"Hi couz! Welcome! Bawal ang broken hearted dito!" she said at niyakap ako. I smiled at her and cried silently.
Alam kong someday, Ian and I are gonna meet each other on a crossroads. I know someday, I'll hear the reasons behind all these. I just wish, that someday will be soon enough.
