I finally made it to my new 'house' after a couple rest stops to calm down my sick stomach. It wasn't even a house, it was a studio apartment in the outskirts of Seoul. I guess I couldn't complain, any apartment in Seoul is quite expensive and I bought this at a very cheap price.
After grazing my eyes on the door I pulled out the key and turned the knob. Let me just say, I was disappointed. It smelled and some of the wood floorboards were loose while some were just about to rot. The 'kitchen' was very small and so was the 'bedroom'. Let's not mention the bathroom. I let out some air, actually not some air. If I was a balloon I would've gone flat. But then again, it was cheap. I tried to look at the upside of things. With a little time I can repair this... but then again I'd need money as well, and where would I get that?
I decided to ignore it all and flung my bags onto a nearby love seat, and rushed to the bed. I must say, the bed wasn't all that bad...if you put away the creaky springs and the smell of moth balls. I sighed and smiled as I finally got some well needed rest. Or at least I wished I did, just then there was a knock on the door, which appeared to be the onl sturdy thing in this apartment. Either way, as I made my way towards the door I couldn't help but think, who could it be? I knew no one in Korea, nor did I give anyone my new adress, with the exception of those close to me.
There was a knock again, "Yes, I know! I'm coming," I partially yelled, did I mention I'm tired and annoyed? Finally after what seemed like an eternity- but was actually a couple seconds, my hand reached for the knob. I turned it without hesitation and stuck my head outside the door. There stood a girl, just about my age. Who could this be?
"Hi!" The girl said a little too enthusiastically, "I'm Grace, a saw that you just moved in and decided to welcome you." She pulled out a basket beind her, it appeared to be filled with candy goodies. I narrowed my eyes, I wasn't too fond of this girl, but I was hungry and partially broke, so I opened the door fully. I forced myself to smile and grabbed a hold of the basket, "Thank you, you're too kind." Just because I didn't like the person, doesn't mean that I have to be rude.
"Oh no," Her cheeks slightly turned pink, "I'd do it for anyone." She let out a slight chuckle and it was silence for a couple seconds after that. "Er, would you like to come in?" I asked, after snapping back into my senses. She smiled and nodded, and barged into my apartment, no waiting for me to get out of the way either. She immedietly pinched her nose in disgust, a little too much I'd say. She caught me staring at her and put her hand away, embarassed. "What a... nice apartment," she had a sheepish smile on her face as she said that. "No, it's horrible, I got it for a low price," I set the basket down on a counter, "I guess this is what I get."
"Well I think it would be better if we could talk somewhere else, no?"
What's with this girl, I thought in my head. "Yeah! Let me just get ready, I look like a mess," This I don't deny, because I really did look like someone dragged my up the stairs. I zipped open my suitcase and grabbed a sweater and jeans matched with converse, and headed to the bathroom to change.
I was surprised by my reflection, my face looked worse than the rest of my body. I quickly washed my face and it made it many times better, I smiled and continued on.

Grace had decided to take us to a nearby cafe that was actually quite cozy. She talked most of the time, with me saying the ocassional 'yes' or 'oh'. Our weak excuses for conversations, were mostly about this band that Grace had loved for the longest time- or so she says. Their name is quite silly, as it's made out of their blood types, but I guess it made sense since blood types were like zodiac signs in Korea. B1A4 was the name, the band consisted of 5 members as the name suggests, though I don't remember any of their names since I had zoned out by then. Plus, I wasn't too interested in finding a band to obsess over, I've had many in the past. After it all, we went back home, being a little bit closer to being friends and not strangers. I guess I'm lucky, making friends as an adult is a lot harder than making friends as a kid.
