You sighed. School was the worst thing ever. Lucky you were leaving next year, finally! After 8 painfully long years... You boarded the bus and sat on your own, flicking through your scrapbook. Dragons met your eyes, all drawn by you. You loved the world of httyd, and were seriously obsessed with the series race to the edge. Kids at school thought you were slightly crazy, not that you cared. You enjoyed it so much, that you had been writing your own story, about a girl with wings and who rode a skrill. It was private, so no one else knew about it. Your fingers traced the skrill you had drawn. You smiled.
You sat on the mat waiting your teachers arrival. Your scrapbook was small, and easy to fit in your pocket, which meant it was easy to sneak it in class. You pulled it out now, drowning the out the noise of excited students. You turned to a page pondering what to draw. A nadder you decided, your pencil flowing across the page. You were so absorbed you didn't notice two figures had entered, and the rowdy kids had quietened down.
"Y/N!" You looked up.
"No drawing during class." Mrs T/N said. She gave you a disapproving shake. You blushed for a second, hurriedly stowing away what you had been drawing. A few kids chuckled. You ignored them. Someone unexpectedly sat down to your left, you turned, seeing the teacher aid Miss Kingsive sit near you. You smiled, she was always nice to you. Having been a artist herself once, she understood your passion for drawing, although she mainly drew flowers and other aspects of nature. Nevertheless, you two shared a mutual friendship.
"Good morning class." Mrs T/N said, greeting the hoard of children.
"Good morning Mrs T/N." The class chanted. You recited with the rest of them reminding yourself it was only 6 more hours before you could resume your drawing.
"Today we have a special guest, an observer from another school to see how our digital learning impacts on our behaviour." Hands shot up. She held a finger up, signalling for them to wait.
"He comes from a school considering of going digital, but he will need to make one last check before it is set up. So we want to impress him." She said. Most of the hands lowered, although a few stayed up. A click behind you sounded, you turned.
"Ahh here he is, Shane Tinderly, I introduce you to room 8." The man nodded his face hidden in the shadows.
"I am honoured." You shivered, there was something familiar about that voice. You caught a glimpse of his face. Dark hair, a coarse beard... The man stepped out, into a shaft of light, dramatically highlighting his features. You barely concealed a gasp.
Dark hair framed his forehead, and where smooth skin should be, heavily scarred skin resided. One eye was bright white. You heard a few others gasp as well, and even Mrs T/N had to cover her shock. A feeling of dread coarsed through you, not from the reasons others supposed.
This man wasn't Shane Tinderly
It was Viggo Grimborn
