Mackenzie's POV

I woke up to feel the dry tears in my cheeks, my cheek is still bruised, and it's another day of hell in school. I quickly took a shower and ran downstairs I saw another note:

"Mack I'm sorry I have to tell you this by a note, but I left for a business trip and I'm not coming back till next week, there are six hundred bucks in my closet, those are for you, use them wisely, hope you have a great week, and once again, I'm sorry!!!

Love you, Mom!"

Great, now my mom left and I'm home alone, can this get any worse? I walk out of my house running and I bumped into someone, please don't be Hayes, please don't be Hayes I said to myself, I raise my head to see who it was, and I saw Shawn. "Sorry" I said, "Don't worry, wanna walk to school together?" He asked me, "Um, are you sure you want to be seen with me" I said, "I don't care what they say, you are coming with me and I'm not accepting a no as an answer, now let's go it's getting late" he said, "Okay" I replied with a shy voice, he wrapped his arms around me in a protective way, why would he do this?

When we arrived school everyone was staring at us, all I could hear was words that were bringing me down each second I heard them.

Suddenly Shawn whispers in my ear "Don't listen to them, you are beautiful no matter what, I'm here for you" I looked at him and let out a little smile, he looked back at me and smiles perfectly, as always.

I finally make to my room where I had math, without Shawn, it was with Hayes. Shawn looks at me in the eyes and then down to our holding hands and says "Are you sure you are going to be okay?" He said looking down to our hands, I didn't realize we where holding hands all the time, maybe that's why I felt so safe, finally I'm starting to think that someone really likes me. "Yes, thank you so much" I reply, "I'm always here for you" he finishes our conversation and walks away.

When I walked into math class I saw Hayes, I started to worry, so I sat down at my usual spot, I can feel Hayes coming closer and closer and closer, till I heard him say something, "I didn't see you this morning, where were you at?" He asked, I didn't reply, then he asks again the same thing but in a louder tone, I was scared so I reply back "I was doing something in my house", "Don't lie" he screams at me, "I saw you with that guy walking together, what's his name, Shawn, yes Shawn", "What? You don't even care about me, why are you caring with who I am right now", " Yes you're right I don't care, now shut up, and see you at the end of school, big surprise coming" he said with a creepy voice. I was scared, I wasn't even able to concentrate in the class just by thinking of what Hayes was planning to do to me.

Hayes hasn't been talking too me all day, even though he has been in most of my periods, which is a good and bad thing at the same time, but the worst is that I haven't seen Shawn in all day, where has he been?, it's my last period, and I'm scared.

A few steps away I could see a familiar guy, tall with chocolate brown eyes and a perfect smile, it was him, it's was Shawn talking to someone in the hallway, no this can't be happening, no, no, no, it was Hayes, he was talking to Hayes, and the worst part of it is that they were laughing, Are they friends? The first question in my mind.

I quickly get into the room so they couldn't see me, and once again I couldn't concentrate, despite everything that I've been through I've always been an "A" student, but things now are really complicated.

The dismissal bell rang, I didn't want to get out of the room, I was so so scared.

I ran into my locker, threw my stuff in there and started running, but I felt like was someone grabbing my arm really hard and trying to turn me back to see him, I turned back it was Hayes, "Where do you think you are going" he asked me, "H-h-home" I said with a shaky voice, "You're going no where but with me, now let's go", he took me to a weird alley in the back of the school, where his friends, Tyler and Josh, we're waiting for me, he threw me in the floor and said, "Don't worry this is not going to hurt" I could notice the sarcasm in his voice. I was so scared. Then, out of the nowhere he yelled "Go" and they all stated punching me, kicking me, slapping me, and even worse, Hayes was the one punching my face.
