Its All Rainbows And Butterflies

Chapter 4: Everfree

(Dashie's Pov)

I fly off from fluttershy. I know she like animals and all but geez. I just wanted us to train together. I fly and soon I land on a cloud. I lay there and look at the moon. Hm. Was the dog more important than me? I mean it was hurt and all... eh what ever I'll just train with her tomorrow. She wont gaff me off right?

To break my concentration Gilda lands on the cloud infront of me.

"Hey dash. Want to go hang? Or like race...."

"Not now Gilda." I say kind of annouyed. I just want to be left alone and to go to sleep.

"Why not? Is rainbow crash to scared of the dark!"

"Gilda... don't call me that! And second your on! Race where! I can beat you anytime any place!"

"From these clouds to the forest."

I look at the tree line and chuckle. "Your so on." I land on a starting cloud and ready my wings. Then I look at her.

We dart from the clouds and through the everfree forest. I dash through the trees, that's when I notice Gilda isn't beside or behind me. My pride and happiness rises, but then I realize I'm alone.

I hear her land behind me and she laughs. "Well hehe. Guess you've gotten better."

"Shut up Gilda...." I say looking at her. I roll my eyes and then look around, the clouds are dark, like a bad rain. "Gilda we gotta go."

"Yeah I get that."

I huff and fly fast to get out, but I have realized now that we are to far in to make it through the storm to ponyville.

"We can just stay here, or walk."

"Gilda. I'm not walking trough this storm I am gonna try to get home. You wanna stay here then go a-" it starts to down poor, I can't see in front of my face. I fall and I fall on top of Gilda.

"Hay get off! Look we will find a way. Earthier way we practically stay here stay here"

"Sorry, jeez, I didn't mean to fall...." Stands on feet and walks beside Gilda. "Let's fine a cave or overhang."

She kinda growls. "We can't if we can't see anything. Let's just go into the Everfree."

"No..."

"Dash that's our only chance right now. Plus it will just go on the border."

I growl a bit but listen to her, she's right. Though I hate to admit it, she's totally right.

She guides me into the forest and I can actually see her, it doesn't help that the sun is setting... "Gilda we need to take shelter..."

"I'm looking. Lucky for you I can see in total darkness." She grabs me and drags me to a cave. "It looks decently big... Let's just hope nothings is inside."

I walk in feeling a bit warmer as I go in. There is no way it's just from the cave. I look back at Gilda to see her eyes wide. She flies out and I look back to see a bear snarling and growling. I step back and kinda shake. I look around but it looks like I'm it's next meal. I look away, but then I hear a familiar gasp.

"I'm ashamed of you." I look to see Fluttershy right in it's face. "You could have killed her! At least the nice thing you could do was to invite her in from this bad storm." The bear backs away as she yells and she drops some food on the floor. "Rainbow? What are you doing way out here?"

"Uh...uh... Just practicing...." I walk out of the cave. I want to tell her I was hanging with Gilda but the last time she didn't like Gilda.

"In Everfree? Hm strange training ground. Want to come and get out of the rain?"

"Sure...look flutter-" lightning and thunder crack and I jump.

I don't see her in front of me but I look to see her clinging to me from behind.

"I hate storms...."

She nods and she pulls at my shirt for me to follow her, but she stays close. She turns on a flashlight and mainly looks at the ground.

Another crack of thunder and lightning show in the sky. I hug her tight.

"You've always been afraid of storms since that day..."

I look up at her eyes and feel my face get hot.

I remember, the Pegasus ponies where getting really annoyed with me so I left. I travelled into everfree. Just to get away and practice, needless to say I had some stuff to learn back then.

It was getting dark when I had left to head home, or started to leave. Then otter to down poor in everfree like it is now. And thunder cracked, lightning flashed and I got scared. I flew fast, but I wasn't going in the right direction. I was heading away from ponyville, deeper into everfree. Well, when lightning flash again the place got darker and I couldn't see and I hit my head on a tree branch.

When I woke up in a hospital bed and, fluttershy was by my side. As always she had blushed but explain that they had sent a search party, also that I was missing for a day or so before they found me. I had a nice goose egg on my head. If been horrified of storms and the everfree forest ever since.

By the thoughts going though my head I haven't noticed how close we were to Ponyville. Fluttershy looks like she was talking and is looking at me for a response. "Guess you didn't hear me... It's fine. Let's just get home."

"Okay."
