Brendon's POV (again)

The drive to the hospital was agonizing not only for me, drowning in guilt, but for Pete who was in actual physical pain. Of course Patrick was freaking out too, he seemed to be trying to keep his cool but we all knew he was worse that he was letting us see.

We arrived and I helped Patrick carry Pete inside. By the time we had entered the hospital Pete had passed out. A nurse looked up and saw blood dripping to the ground. She called a few other nurses and came to take Pete away, telling us to follow her. We entered the room the nurses had just dragged him into to find him already laying very still in the bed as they quickly attatched many wires to him. One of the nurses came over and asked us what happened so i explained. She thanked me and asked us to wait in the waiting room while they did their best to fix him up.

In the waiting room, I sat down and put my head in my hands. I could not think about anything but Pete and what would happen if he died. I looked at my shoes like they would somehow solve everything, like if I stared at my shoes long enough, Pete would waltz out and we could go for pizza. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Patrick in the seat next to me. I found it hard to look him in the eyes.

He gave me a sympathetic smile and said, "It's not your fault."

My head shot up and I looked at him like he had just told me I could light a match underwater. "What are you talking about? Of course it's my fault! I pushed him, I pushed him and he landed on something that stabbed him and now he could..."

"Brendon. When he wakes up he is not going to be mad at you for pushing him, even if he was hurt. The first thing he is going to do is thank you for saving me. If there is one thing I know it's that Pete loves me and I know he'd take a bullet for me. He is going to be grateful that i'm okay and he is not going to care that he has a bloody hole in his side."

I pulled him into a hug and he squeezed me back. I really needed a hug and finally getting one was actually really soothing. I felt a little better after Patrick talked to me, I was sure that he was going to hate me for the rest of his life. Dallon finally came in with some sodas and gave them to us before sitting down next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder and he kissed my head. Eventually I dosed off.

Dallon's POV

I could not stand seeing Brendon like this. He didn't say anything but I knew he blamed himself. The way he wouldn't look Patrick in the eyes and the way he looked at Pete from the corner of his eye. I walked into the waiting room and gave Patrick and Brendon the drinks I had brought before sitting down next to Brendon. He rested his head on my shoulder and sighed. I kissed his head and took a sip from my drink. I brought my phone out and started playing a game.

A few hours later

A doctor came out and called Pete's name. I saw Patrick was asleep so I waved at the doctor and he came over to us as I shook Patrick and Brendon awake.

"Are you three here for Pete Wentz?"

Patrick rubbed his eyes and said, "Yes sir, he's my boyfriend."

"Ah, perfect. I'd like to inform you that your boyfriend is going to be fine. He had to get a few stitches but the wound is now closed and the bleeding has stopped. He seems to have landed on one of those two point forks, like the ones used for bbq. God knows how it got in the water but we are almost positive that it was that that wounded him. We have him on some pain medicine but he is awake and alert in case you would like to see him."

"Thank you so much doctor."

"My pleasure!"

"Oh doctor? Are all three of us okay to go in and see him?"

The doctor smiled, "The rules are two at a time but I think I can make an exception."

"Thanks so much!"

"No problem.", he says as he walks away.

We walk into Pete's room and his face lights up when he sees us.

"Pete!"

"Hey baby!"

Patrick goes to Pete's bedside and kisses his forehead.

Pete looks over at Brendon, "Thanks for protecting my Patrick, Brendon."

Brendon smiles. Pete scoots over in the bed so Patrick can snuggle in next to him. I pull Brendon back out to the waiting room and he rests his head on my shoulder again, soon we are both asleep.
