*Loki*
Everyone was fighting hard. I must admit, even when fighting those annoying Avengers, I didn't fight to my full potential because I didn't need to. Here however, I am fighting for my life.
I don't know why, but this also feels... right. I don't know if it's the fighting or being in a familiar environment or even... dare I say it, protecting people, it just feels right.
I saw Percy fighting in the corner of my eye. Well, I say I saw Percy, what I rally saw was a hurricane which was blowing monsters off there feet and into golden dust. When that finished, I saw Percy fight with his blade which is also well known on Asgard along with Percy, Anaklusmos, better known as Riptide. Percy fought brilliantly even if he sometimes forgot about protecting his back; almost as if he was expecting someone else to be there with him.
I had grown quite fond of Perseus. He actually acted like I existed, where as the other Avengers just pretend I'm not there.
Gods, I really need to stop talking about my 'feelings'.
Anyway, we had all been fighting for about 5 hours. As you can probably imagine, our side was slowing up. But the monsters just kept on coming. This was probably the biggest collection of monsters there had ever been. Percy would be able to tell you definitely since he saw and fought the amount of monsters fighting in the 'second giant war' as it is now being called.
I was just about to face a hellhound when there was a scream. I could tell this was a scream by a person who doesn't normally scream much. It was cut short almost as soon as it was let out. But this did not stop everyone hearing it.
I looked up and in Tartarus' hand was Natasha hanging by her throat.
I knew as soon as this happened Percy would once again try to hand himself over. Percy had grown close to the other Avengers while I had been there. I might even go as far as saying that I had grown quite close to him as well.
Only might though.
I heard a loud, deep growl.
"Tartarus, let her go, it's me you want." Instantly, without looking, I knew this was Percy. He pushed his way forward towards Tartarus until he was standing less than a stone throw away. None of the monsters dared to stand between Percy and his prey. You could see fire in his eyes. His aura had turned a slight red colour betraying his blank face by showing the anger he was currently feeling.
"Ok, Perseus. How do you want to do this. Come with us and the war is over or let me kill you now and we might end the war." Tartarus said tightening his grip on Natasha.
"Don't you dare, Percy!" Natasha managed to say before the hand that wasn't currently strangling her was held over her mouth.
"How about we do this the old fashioned way. A duel. If I win, you let Natasha go, and you die along with all the monsters fighting in this war on your side, the war will finish or, If you win, you can take me and do whatever you want and leave everyone else alone and the war ends." Percy offered. I could see Natasha truffling in Kronos' arms.
"Perseus Jackson, you have a deal." Tartarus decided after some debating.
"Swear on the River Styx." Percy said, sounding slightly surprised that Tartarus actually accepted.
"I swear on the river Styx that If you win, I will let Natasha go, and die along with all the monsters fighting in this war on my side, the war will finish or, If I win, I can take you, Perseus Jackson, and do whatever you want and leave everyone else alone and the war end." Tartarus said. Tartarus handed Natasha to one of his little 'friends'.
And with that, the duel started.
The pair were almost equally matched much alike Percy and Gaia had been. The only thing was that I could see Tartarus had the upper hand. Percy was focusing on defence when he needed to focus on a mixture of both offence and defence before he tires too much.
About 20 minutes later, the battle field was still quiet apart from the clashes of Percy's Sword and Kronos scythe which Tartarus had somehow got had of.
I could see that Tartarus was covered in little scratches all over his body where as Percy was clean of all new scars.
I had herd tales of Kronos' scythe which Tartarus was currently using. With one cut it would remove your soul from your body or something along those lines. I also heard that after the second Titan war, Kronos' scythe was burnt in the hearth on Olympus. Tartarus must of remade it somehow.
That also meant that one cut could kill Percy.
I saw the two try to slice and dice each other and then watch Tartarus get even move annoyed every time Percy dodged a hit. Like a tomato that kept on moving each time you tried to cut it.
With a loud groan, Percy managed to plunge his sword straight into Tartarus' chest. With that the battle field, if possible, became even more silent apart from Tartarus' screams.
No one could really understand Tartarus' screams until the last thing he shouted.
"I, Tartarus, curse Perseus Jackson." Everyone looked slightly panicked. Steve ran forwards to go to Percy as he slowly fell to the ground.
I saw Tartarus say one more sentence to Steve before once again dying and returning to The pit.
Steve was trying to find a pulse on the now, once again, pale looking boy.
"Apollo!" Steve shouted, and Apollo ran over.
All of the monsters had died along with Tartarus, that's when I realised. Percy never made Tartarus swear to not attack him, Tartarus saw this and cursed the stupid boy.
I was I interrupted by Apollo shouting
"He's still Alive!"
Everyone rushed over, apart from me, I walked, and looked at the unconscious boy laying on the floor.
I was thinking about what Tartarus had shouted before shouting the curse at Percy. I knew that, that couldn't have been the full curse because he didn't say what he was cursing him with.
Suddenly it struck me.
He was talking in ancient Asgardian. (An: I don't think this is a thing, but please don't start complaining about it)
It isn't even spoken on Asgard anymore. The only reason I know it was because Odin taught Thor and I when we were kids. I don't know how Tartarus knew it, but that was a question for another time.
He said:
Mallkoj ty, për ty ka goditur më poshtë. Unë të bëj të parë atë që ty nuk dëshiron. Unë të bëj të vuajnë edhe pse të gjithë ty ka humbur.
I paled.
"What is it brother?" Thor asked.
"Think Thor! Tartarus said: Mallkoj ty, për ty ka goditur më poshtë. Unë të bëj të parë atë që ty nuk dëshiron. Unë të bëj të vuajnë edhe pse të gjithë ty ka humbur."
He also paled dramatically.
"What? What does it mean?" Natasha asked.
Thor translated it for her.
"It means: I curse thee, for thee has struck me down. I make thee see what thee wishes not. I make thee suffer though all thee has lost."
"What does that mean?" Clint asked. I explained
"It means that young Perseus here is currently reliving all his worst memories, reliving all his pain and torture. And for Perseus, that would be a lot."
(An: It actually said it in Albanian as I don't know Ancient Asgardian and neither does google translate! )
