Third Link HQ:
"Attention all of you!" Reilly said to the office of the Third Link main office. There was at least 30 scribes and other desk workers that stopped what they was doing and looked at the newly appointed Minster of Arms that has bursted into the door along with two steels that had the role as bodyguards.
She went to the big blackboard on the end of the room and wrote with chalk a name. Bill Calhoun. "This name, I want to know everything that we have. This is official a priority A case. I want to scan every book, ask every informant and look behind every rock to find more about this name. You do not rest until we know more about him than his mother. Coordinate with your team leaders. " She put down the chalk and walked out of the room as swiftly as she came. There was silent for a second before the scribes started with their new task. Within hours all information they had would be scanned and put into a folder sent directly to the citadel.
Reilly walked out the entrance of the Third Link HQ. She looked at her watch. It was 20 minutes until the weekly cabinet meeting at the Capitol. She would reach it if she maked haste. Around her people was making their own way on their way to their daily life, ignoring the third most important person right now in the Capital Wasteland. They had come a long way since the area fell silent after the liberation of the Jefferson memorial. For every brick that was put in the ground to make a way, they made the time of anarchy a more distant past.
The steps up the Capitol Building felt lighter every time she climbed them. Two soldiers stood guard at the entrance watching everyone that walked out and in the building. Although substantial resources had been used to renovate the façade and the dome, it was still only 40 pct renovated inside and the right wing was still closed. The main office was the one of Elder Lyons and right now there was a cabinet meeting. Reilly was the last one arriving. She said hello and sat down at the table. Elder Lyons sat at the end of the table, on his right side was a scribe named Goldstein. He had been appointed to be the first economical chief of the Capital Wasteland. A old man that was at the time of the Anarchy the caps guy for the Brotherhood of Steel. Annabelle of the followers had got the role of the person in charge of health and domestic affairs. After all there was no better doctor and surgeon anywhere in the Capital Wasteland. Lastly there was the younger Lyons. She had been promoted to foreign affairs, meaning that she had the impossible task of actually defining where the borders of the Capital Wasteland were. Together they was the council that run the Capital Wasteland.
"We can start then." The Elder Lyons said and continued "first of all, to inform all off you, the Security Council has taken the approximate measure to meet the threat. I will update the council as the time comes, however the Capital Wasteland needs to be run day to day also. So let's go through the agenda. First, how is the census going?" The question was directed to Annabelle. She looked at her notes before she started talking.
"We are well underway with the census in the core city already completed. From the walls up and including Rivet City there are 38.459 people living inside our walls. The task to create a national database with all those people has been started with scribes creating the infrastructure to hold such records. When it comes to the area outside the walls and in other cities as Megaton and Arefu there a problems as many of them are moving around. In Megatons case there are records on who owns houses and properties there. When it comes to the health sector I can say that the first class of doctors trained in 2 years course will be examinees in a couple of months. With three new factories up and running we also have medical equipment and supplies to sustain a good coverage of health options."
"Good, good, let's try to reach the goal of full census within a year. That brings us to the next question, the change from caps to bills. Goldstein?"
The man in charge of the economy had a low monotone voice that could make an adrenalin junkie fall asleep started talking without looking at his notes.
