The Commitment

Chapter 1

I had a confession to make.

But I do still have secrets to keep. Well, everyone is entitled to have one right?

Okay then, I'll start with the disclosure.

I've never been in love. And I don't want to try loving someone either. I don't even expect meeting love in the first place 'coz I'm terrified that love might turn my world upside down and just leave my feelings in turmoil. Also, I don't believe in fictions. Because realities often have better endings than a fairy tale. A more realistic finale than a prince and a princess that lived happily ever after.

But it is true that love, as they say, comes when you least expect it.

And when I met him, my own little world started to turn into something I've never imagine. Not even in my slightest daydreaming.

"And it's still your sweetest DJ on air, and I'll accompany you all throughout our final hour. On board is Rocky and I'll be playing more of your favorite tracks to keep you locked in only right here at 97.5 M-Y Radio. Sounds great!"

And there, after I clicked the song 'Take a Chance' of Luigi D' Avola, I eventually took off my headset and lowered down my mic on the sound mixer. I've been so busy these past few days that I almost forgot that I'll be attending my cousin's wedding tomorrow. I'll be off to Palawan for two days just to grant Ally's undying request. Tsss. Such a brat! She kept on calling me since last week begging me to come that I can't almost concentrate on my article. My thoughts are being torn into pieces. I'm really confused if I'm going to attend since I'm loaded with works. Works like writing scripts, a scheduled out of town coverage, Voice Overs for that radio commercial and my daily radio program that runs for about 3 hours. I worked as a Disc Jockey in a radio station somewhere in Metro and I also write an article for a travel magazine. Just a few months ago, a college classmate which is now a Segment producer approached and asked me if I could write scripts about their travel show for their scriptwriter is so unpredictable and that she almost get the program killed. I just can't ignore the offer since I'm really into traveling and exploring places. And now I'm currently working with the scripts of that travel show aired every Saturday. I still need to finish my article in the travel magazine that'll be passed tomorrow! Haaaaaay!

So many things to do! But it's okay, I loved what I'm doing and it's a passion indeed. Motto in life??

'Things must be done with love'.

Plus dedication, hard work, and patience. So, fighting!

Such a relief cheering yourself. And I can't help smiling whenever I convinced myself that everything will be alright.

"Hey, Sandy!" I was about to put on my headset and choose another song when Kuya Lev, our program director, caught my attention outside the radio booth.

"15 min. remaining,mag-iwan ka na lang ng 8 min. for two songs then out na. Mukang di tumatalab music sayo ngayon ah? Kanina ka pa nakasimangot eh."

Huh?? Am I frowning?

"Nakasimangot ba ko? Di naman ah! May iniisip lang kasi ako kuya"

"Let it be then, out ka na DJ Rocky. Say goodbye to your listeners okay?"

"Copy."

I took on my headset, and play the bgm of my program and..

"Oh, time flies so fast guys. Ayoko pa sanang mag goodbye but I hope you enjoyed my company while listening to your favorite tracks. Anyway, it's 9:52 on the dot and it's still me DJ Rocky, rocking your world with music. I'll be leaving you with DEF Leppard's 'When Love and Hate Collide' so keep tuning in to your favorite FM station, 97.5 M-Y Radio Sounds great! Good night everyone!"
