CHANBAEK ONESHOTS

Replaced

As Baekhyun sits on the couch, he fiddles with his favourite collar and stares sadly at Chanyeol whose back is facing him.

Chanyeol has recently been caught up with his work, and Baekhyun really would have been okay with it if Chanyeol wasn't straight up ignoring him.

But he was.

Chanyeol again had woken up just before work time and instead of spending it with Baekhyun, he had spent it staring at his computer monitor. Baekhyun's puppy ears flop down sadly as his tail stops wagging. Chanyeol hasn't been spending any time with him at all recently, and he really misses him, but he doesn't seem to care at all.

Chanyeol once again doesn't seem to realize as Baekhyun slowly makes his way back into their room in lonely silence.

Baekhyun perks up as he picks up on the sound of the door closing, and he pulls his penguin plushie closer to his body as he thinks about how Chanyeol hasn't even been saying a short word of "bye" to him anymore. Missing a few goodbye kisses is still okay, but recently it's been like Baekhyun doesn't even exist anymore.

After an hour of moping on his bed and thinking about Chanyeol, Baekhyun finally decides he can't keep doing this forever. He gets up, and goes around the house trying to find something to do to distract him from this matter. Going around the house, he notices the computer, and he decides to play a few computer games. Anything as long as it diverts his attention away from his loneliness.

Baekhyun heads over to the kitchen first to grab a cookie before he sits down at the computer seat, and he opens up a new tab. As he's typing, his eyes fall upon the words "cat h.." on another tab. Why would Chanyeol search up on cats? Chanyeol had told him at least a dozen times that he was more of a dog person.

Surely Chanyeol wouldn't mind him taking a quick peek, right? Curiosity piqued, he moves the mouse over to it and goes to click on it, and when it opens up he feels the world crashing down on him.

Baekhyun had immediately returned on his room, eyes glossy as he clutched onto his penguin plushie. He really wouldn't doubt Chanyeol for no reason, but with everything that's been happening recently he can't help but do so. That would explain everything- why he's been so uninterested recently, why he's become so uncaring and cold.

Did Chanyeol not want him anymore? Had he become tired of him already? Did Chanyeol prefer cat hybrids all along? Was he planning to get rid of him?

Abandon him on the streets?

At that thought, all of Baekhyun's insecurities crashed over him like a wave, and he curled up on the bed, tears falling uncontrollably.

Baekhyun had been abandoned as a small puppy, and he had always been so insecure and self conscious about that matter. His spirit was absolutely crushed as he was left to rot in a soggy cardboard box on the streets, crying for his mother who never once turned back to look at him as she walked away.

Chanyeol had picked him up and he had constantly spent time showering him with love and affection, telling him how much he loved him, and that built up Baekhyun's confidence bit by bit.

But recently Chanyeol acted like he wasn't even there. Did Chanyeol finally get sick of him? Did he only pick him up because he felt obliged to help out? Did Chanyeol even ever love him at all?
