Once the flames calmed down Derek shot up making sure his brother and May were ok. Seeing the flames engulfed them when the building exploded. Anthony looked fine and May was clinging onto him shaking like a baby animal.

My eyes traveled to the abandon building. It was destroyed the beams had crashed down on one another making the flame dance higher and higher into the air. The gray ash poisoned and darkened the air and sky.

The flames danced higher into the air for a split second I could see the TV crash onto the ground. My chest tightened. Anthony pulled May closer to his chest. Derek tightened his grip on me the only thing that seemed to be fighting against the flames would be the basement because it was made of stone the fire barely touched it.

But everything else was engulfed and turned to ash. The sound of the crackling fire was horrifying it didn't sound like a camp fire. This fire was meant to kill someone not to keep someone warm on a cold night.

Before our thoughts could understand what was happening we could hear 2 cars pull up into the parking lot. For a second I thought it was the police or fireman but there were no sirens and no one was yelling it was still as quite as before.

Derek was the first one to see who was making their way over to us. He grabbed my shoulder and rushed into the woods. Anthony shot his head at his brother confused. Derek started mouthing

'HIDE' Anthony didn't think twice. He pushed May up and they hid in the woods because of the fire it made everything around it dark. If you thought before it was hard to see now it's impossible.

Derek hid behind a tree and I hid in between a few bushes nearby Derek. Anthony was trying to do the same thing as Derek. May was hiding in his arms not wanting to leave his side. Soon we could hear people walking over to us. Each step they took made my chest tighten.

I don't know why their steps seemed to be as loud as the dancing fire maybe even louder. Derek slowly moved his head so he could get a better look at them. I did the same. I could make out the silhouette of 3 men maybe. They were all wearing the same thing, a black suit with a black tie they looked like they just walked out of the men in black movie.

Each one almost looked the exact same. All of them had black thick sunglasses and black hair and bodies built like bricks. Making my body tense up more than it already was. They all made their way to the fire. One sighed overly dramatic as he took his sunglasses off. My eyes widen as I threw my hands over my mouth trying to stop the gasp from coming out of me. The man's eyes were pitch black.

"Took long enough" the man who took off his sunglasses said tiredly. The man behind him chuckled.

"You're telling me. Do you think the kids found this place?, you know we don't have any cameras around here." He said as he started looking around. His eyes seemed to pierce threw the darkness. I shot my head away and pushed my self deeper into the bush. Derek did the same he slammed his head agents the tree.

"Probably not their to stupid" missing sunglasses laughed. Making me glare

'a*s hole'

"what about May?" we all tensed up. I glanced over at May her eyes were wide. Tears covered her hole face. Her eyes were slowing turning red and small strands of her hair were sticking to her checks.

"Haha the boss will be happy to hear his bastard of a daughter is in there." One of them laughed. It was so cold, their voices sounded like they had no life in them and they spoke so easily about someone dying and calling May a bastard. After their shared laughter they all stared at the flames.

"That old man cause us so much trouble" one of them growled.

"We'll his family will pay the price. Just like our new lab rats" missing sunglasses laughed and with that they all walked away. Started their cars and drove off into the early morning traffic. I slowly dropped my hands from my mouth everything they had said made my head spin.

So, so the old man was telling the truth we are lab rats...and they want May dead for some reason. Derek slid down the tree and reached for my hand. I happily gave it to him. Anthony and May both crashed down and for a long time there was a long, LONG pause none of us said anything.

 May's quite sobs felled the air and before we knew it the fire had gone out leaving nothing but ash and destroyed hope. I slowly walked over to it. Derek slowly followed me I gently touched one of the burned wooden planks the ash died my finger and warmed my hole hand.

"There's still that video he hid we have to find that" Derek said loud and clear so we could all hear him. Anthony was piratically carrying May who looked more like a scared animal, that just wanted to run away. But who the hell could disagree with her?, someone just called you a bastard and that they hoped you were dead.

Not me. Not Derek and not Anthony just her. I glanced at her and before I could say anything she jumped out of Anthony's arm and crashed into me. Her arm's tightly wrapped around me and my shoulder became her pillow.

She'd cry into her body shocked violently every few seconds. I didn't say anything just gently rubbed her back hopping that, that would help even a little.

"De-Derek's right" she coughed out as she faced me.

"W-we ne-need t-to find tha-that video" she forced a scared smile. I couldn't help but join her. Anthony's hands were fist

"Nothing's going to touch any of you. Their messing with the wrong people" Anthony growled with hate and rage lingering on his voices. Derek smiled at his brother seeing him finally act his age. But I guess with this nightmare we're living in he was forced to act his age.

"Let's go" Derek said as he gently patted my shoulder. I helped May up

"..how do we act normal after this?" I asked Derek. He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. His warm arms felt safe and sound as if nothing could touch me. My hand imminently touched his arm scared it vanish.

"We will Julia, and after that...we'll find that video we will get out of this hell" he said in a promising tone. I couldn't help but have faith in his words and with May's smiling becoming stronger. I knew she felt the same. Anthony grabbed May and pulled her to the side out of ear shot. I smiled and rested my head on Derek's chest.

I could hear the thumping of his heart beat. It was calm and steady shockingly. I normally hate the sound of a heart beat but I couldn't help but love this beat. I just hopped that his plan would be that easy. I pray it's that easy to get out of here. But with the weight of fear resting on my shoulders. I knew it wouldn't be.

Thank you for reading the first six chapters of Glitch. This is something I had been working on for a long time. XD. About 4 months just for SIX chapters. I had to re start a lot and this was the out come. I hope you like it. When I post I'm going to try not to post just one chapter maybe two or three.
