One thing that I have learned from Miss Brizo is that she does not wait for the chimes to signal that class is over, she simply ends class whenever she thinks class should end. I like that. It gives me more time to get to my next class.

Not that I need it, really, but it is always appreciated.

My next class is my second elective, Art.

I absolutely love art. I paint all the time! But one thing I find slightly annoying is that Duran is much better at it than I am. It might be the only thing he is good at but I am so used to being better at him at everything that it can annoy me whenever he paints or draws something magnificent!

Non-surprisingly, I find myself the first student in the classroom. I take a seat at a oak-wood table and sit quietly.

Moments later, students swarm into the small classroom chattering while they take their seats. Following the students comes the teacher. She is a Unicorn and probably the most beautiful Unicorn I have ever seen! She is tall with long gold hair that reaches her waist with a long gold and white horn resting on her forehead. Every step she takes is long and graceful. She reaches the front of the room and immediately the room goes silent.

"Hello, class. My name is Miss Dazzle and I am your art teacher." Her gaze sweeps around the room and rests on every student. When her golden eyes stop on me, she gasps but recovers herself quickly. She continued to stare and I can feel my face getting hot.

After what felt like an eternity, she continues to gaze around the class. I can tell that people are also feeling a bit awkward because all Miss Dazzle does is stare. When she is finishes looking around the class, she turns to her desk and then hands us all papyrus scrolls and paints. "Paint whatever comes into your mind first," she says and then shifts into a real Unicorn and trots along the class, inspecting us all once again.

Why did she gasp when she saw me? Does she know me? She is kind of weird. I think my problem is that I am just too anxious. Okay, now what should I paint? Nothing is coming to mind except for an image of pixie dust. But I can't paint that! It's too simple. Well she did say to paint whatever first comes in to my mind so....

I dip my paint brush into the yellow pallet and then into the shimmery gold paint and then start to stroke the paper. I hear hooves trotting behind me and then stop. I turn to see Miss Dazzle staring at my painting and then at me. I shrug and say, "Umm... it was the first thing that came to mind." She tosses her gold main, whinnies, and then moves on. "Okay...?" I say to myself. "That was odd."

When I finish my painting, I turn it in and then start to leave because just then the chimes ring, signaling the end of this bizarre class. Miss Dazzle stops me before I can even leave my seat. She changes into her human form and then says, "Wait."

So I do. When the room clears out she turns to me and then to my surprise, she smiles. "You are probably wondering why I was behaving so oddly towards you. I am so very sorry but you have just taken me by surprise is all."

"Really? How?" I ask, confused.

"Your magic power. When I first came into the classroom, immediately I felt a power so strong I scanned the class for whom might be holding that much power. When I saw you, the power I felt in that room expanded and I could feel it all around me. It was quite overwhelming so I apologize for my behavior."

"I have power?"

When she laughs, it almost sounds like the end-of-class chimes. "Yes. You need to learn how to control it but I am sure your Faerie teacher will guide you. May I ask your name?"
