Chapter 8: National Rira Day [PT.1]

Rachel and Ira wake up and are talking, having a regular conversation.

"I think Maya called me yesterday to remind me of something, but I don't really remember what she said."  Rachel says.

"Oh, want me to help you remember it?" Ira suggested.

"Sure, what are you gonna do?"
Ira climbed beside Rachel and gently put both his hands on the side of her face and she could hear a loud noise of crackling from Ira hands.

"Ira, what the heck are you doing?! Are you making lightning inside your hands?!"

Ira laughs. "Rachel, Rachel, are you starting to remember now?" Rachel ponders. "I think so... National... National.. Ri.. National Rira... Day?" Ira stops. "Rira? What's that?" Rachel sits up. "I don't know, but I guess we should go and see for ourselves?" Ira nods. He climbs off her bed. "C'mon." He open's Rachel's window and extends a hand. She takes his hand and they both fly out the window, Ira carrying her in bridal style.

Ira and Rachel arrived at the Pigtail Restaurant. They entered and Ira just waited by the door. Rachel ran straight into the kitchen. "Maya!" Maya was helping her dad cook his signature meal: Omelet á lá Maya. "Rachel, hey!! Happy National Rira Day!" Rachel slowed her tracks. "About that..." Ira slowly walks into the kitchen.

"What is National Rira Day?" Rachel asked.

"How could you not possibly know what National Rira Day is? Almost everyone in my family, and our friends and their family. Even your family!" Rachel was confused. "I could show you what I mean, but I'm helping my dad-"

"You go on ahead, Maya. It's a special day today." He winks at her. Maya winks back. "C'mon, you guys!" Maya grabbed Rachel's hand and Ira hand, running out the door with Rira behind her.

Maya, Rachel, and Ira were all by a small pond. "So...you wanna know what this day means, right?" Maya asked with a smirk. Rira nods. "Well..." Maya bounces a little in place. "THINK FAST!" Maya then proceeds to push Rachel into Ira and they both stumble into the the pond. Good thing it was not deep. Maya squealed.

"M-MAYA!!" Rachel yelled out.

Ira growled. "Oops. I didn't mean to. I kinda tripped. " Maya giggled. "I'm all wet! That was a dirty trick, Maya!" Maya giggled. "National Rira Day is about you two, you guys! Now go home and get changed! You guys should spend some quality time together!" Maya walks off.  Rachel groans, annoyed. Same with Ira, but they're blushing like crazy. Guess this day is all about them. I'm pretty sure Maya made up this day and then told everyone about it.
Well, I guess it's their day. They should spend time together.
